If I do quit I will make sure to sub the month before the reclaim period is up... not about to let anyone to have my house.

Are you really that selfish? if you quit the game, that means you do not intend to play it. you mean you are going to pay a sub fee just to keep your house that you will never use?
I am legit curious as to what goal you had for that kind of plan.

Just to mess selfish people that think is ok for SE to hurt their players (subed or not) instead of solving the issue.
If the decay timer is +6 months, ill probably do the same, specially considering mine is one of the best located houses on the goblet, and, if this measure really comes to life, ill probably buy another 5 houses just to block anyone who ever supported this.

Hypocrisy at it's finest! Punishing people for SE's policyJust to mess selfish people that think is ok for SE to hurt their players (subed or not) instead of solving the issue.

I just want a real solution to this problem. Anyone who knows how SE deals with problems, knows that as soon as they implement the decay, you can say byebye to any future solution for years. Your gloriously solution of a decay timer will actually work for a week or so till the housing situations returns to what we have now and again, just a small portion of the playerbase will have access to housing.
The time will pass, the timer will be less and less efective (that being generous and saying that the timer will be actually effective at its start.. which honestly i doubt) and that will be all. In 2 more years we will have these very same topics, and i wouldn`t be surprised to see people demanding a more strict decay system that punishes house owners even further just to not admit that SE isn`t doing its job.
I want a true solution. I prefer to wait longer for an optimal solution (instanced personal housing comes to mind) that this sorry excuse of a measure that will serve to near nothing but the dreams of a few vocals on this topic who are starving for a chance (that many will miss, thats the funniest part of it all) of getting a house for their own interest. Anyone supporting the decay system doesn`t want a solution to the server problems of SE, just want a house right now. So, if SE will really listen to this kind of people, take it as my act of protest. As someone who likes housing, wants it to be aviable for everyone. I`ve helped a lot of my friends to get their houses, i can`t do it further cause there is no small plots anymore and i see many of them being really hurt for the sorry excuse that SE calls housing and servers, i want a solution for them, not just a countermeasure that won`t even work.
Part of the problem is inactive people holding the plots hostage and yet never returning to actually use what they have. (Banned players, those who've quit, etc.)
Another part of the problem is allowing players to purchase multiple houses per account. It should be one house per account and that is it. Especially with a limited resource like the housing situation.
Ultimately, I think a timer is a fine addition, although it does need to be short enough so those who are petty to hold houses hostage (I.E. inactive for 5 months, sub for 1 month to keep their house out of the hands of others) have to spend more cash to do so. After all, if you are inactive, what gives you the right to lay claim to anything which is limited?

The fact you already claimed it, and the fact that it shouldn`t be limited to begin with.
Why should players be punished by a badly implemented system? This should happen, literally 0 times, and you are puting banned and players who quit on the same sack, which is just wrong.
Supporting the decay, is supporting SE to not ever solve the housing problem. Keep going.
