Is anyone else disappointed by the lack of Long Term Goals?

StrejdaTom: I agree with you. I never understood why people smile at these nerf nerf nerf nerf if you really want handouts and something WoWish you could go back to WoW. Its mostly the FFXI players fault anyways no one else. We where stupid enough to tell Yoshi P during the 1.0 that we didnt want a new FFXI but somewhere along the line I think most of us did not take into concideration that Yoshi P had no FFXI experience came directly from WoW and DAoC and pretty much created what he felt he was missing in these two games here. This game wouldnt look like this otherwise. FFXIV is a WoW in FF clothing with "new" elements just under different names but 0 elements from FFXI. No "casual" is to blame its strictly our fault and I'm not sure how this will work in the future.

But you ARE playing WoW, or whatever generic source game WoW based itself on. Different features, but the same core game. That's why the game is so easy to pick up and play for those who have played MMORPGs before over the last decade or more: We already learned how to play this game! We just learned new features.
