We would also STILL like to have it obey the settings so we don't have to see it if we don't want to.

I'm sorry but the darkaura complains are just dumb. The sfx effect are very light and soft even if mutiple drks are on the same zone. Stop complaining and get a better gpu.
You sure you're in the right topic here? You clearly didn't read anything.
Even I agree that some of the complaints about the aura causing eyestrain were a bit ridiculous, but that was a problem that was already fixed. This thread is about getting back the original Darkside we were promoted with in the ability preview video, or just having it changed in general. Not because we cant handle the way it looks, but because many, many people think it's hideous, and only an empty half of what it use to be.
The black flame was the dark aspect of the aura. It was Darkness.
The red was the background effect that more so symbolized sacrifice in life (Blood is life), aspects that can emotionally tie to darkness.
It provided a full image for the aura, the same way Wrath has the super Saiyan circle, and the yellow lightning that zaps around closer to your character. They compliment each other, the same way the red and black complimented each other on the original Darkside aura. But now the black is gone, and we're left with a background visual that isn't quite tying itself to or complimenting anything, causing it to look more bloodlust than darkness because red is only dark when it is made to look dark. Take Scourge's visual for example, it's a good mix of red and black giving it a dark yet bloody look to it.
Call it over thinking it if you want, but aesthetic means a lot to some people. Especially in the case with Dark Knight, seeing as they are exactly what they symbolize; freedom through darkness. Red strobe lights alone is not Darkness, and does not fit 'Darkside'. Especially now with the 3.07 change to the aura, the opacity and possibly the size were nearly destroyed. It's ridiculously feint now.
Also 'sfx' = sound effects. It's the visual effect 'vfx' that's being discussed.

Because then you can have a higher resolution and zoom further out? I think it's the equivalent of "It hurts your eyes? Then don't look at it."
I'm not sure how something that looks hideous in good graphics would look any better with great graphics.
What? Nothing about this is correct. First of all there only a few people that say the effect somehow hurts their eyes and I think it's rediculus too. Still I want the effect changed to be better because I simply don't like how it looks and that it's too big.
Second, you can still only zoom out as much as the game allows so no you cannot zoom out more just because you have a better gpu.
Lastly, having a better gpu does not change what the effect looks like. If I can buy a new graphics card and have it Change from a huge red wavey thing to some black flames that would be some kind of magic.
Does this even effect you? Do you care one way or the other anyway?

I found it visually displeasing, and compared it to a T Mobile commercial in the past. I've also said that some people like watching epileptic anime, that stuff does cause me to cringe and look away. That's why I have most battle effects turned off, otherwise FATEs/hunts/24 man raids would be unbearable. The effect is and was something that can't be turned off in graphic settings, and before it was large and annoying.
