I got booted out of the game 5 times today and suffered through 10 to 15s lagspikes in-between. This is the ONLY game I have ever played with such issues, I have a solid internet speed. This seriously needs to be fixed, whatever it takes, place servers in the U.S., I don't know. All I know is I'm not paying fifteen a month to get kicked out of PVP, end game raids, etc multiple times.

Just wanted to give a heads-up that I'm having zero problems. I've been questing, chaining dungeons, and grinding with no lag. I'm in the north east USA. So just felt like sharing that. If it was problem only on SE end we'd all be getting it. Since I have not (and all my friends except one who has Verizon), then the problem is more likely between the ISP and FFXIV servers. From past experience this is usually the case. If you check Verizon, Comcast, RoadRunner, and ATT ISP forums there is numerous posts about lag and FFXIV. If you trace your hop you'll find that most packet loss occurs once the packets hit your ISP. I just ran a test myself and some packets were loss after the information hit my ISP but not enough to show me any lag. Years ago when I had Verizon during prime-time Verizon would actually throttle the connections coming from game servers to "maintain the integrity of their servers" . So just a heads up to all of you barking at SE. 90% of all connection problems start with your ISP.
Most ISPs have given FFXIV the category of P2P software and will automatically reduce connections and put them in a lower queue. What that means to you is slow service and lag. Call your ISP and complain. This is a fact, not an opinion.

My losses were mostly on Paris... I got a ping of 100-200 from server in canada but a range from 50 to 3000 from Paris...
At least when I met Titan after 2.0... Didn't check since last installation. The lags vary for me but I don't take notes of when they happen.
What kind of shocked me were the times when I fought Titan (hard) in the last 2 weeks. I ran out, right after that the animation came... at this point I usually had a risk of 99% to take the dmg. But not in the last weeks...
(Any other pve:0,1-2 sec lag) But I wont complain anymore. I prefer to complain about the low number of housingplots.
Was wäre die Welt ohne ein bisschen Schwachsinn? Langweilig!
You know what man? I honestly believe that you are correct. It's flagged through our ISPs as P2P software and they are throttling us. But you know what else? SE IS NOT INNOCENT IN THIS. This is the only MMO that does this out of the half dozen or so I currently play. There IS a reason it is being flagged this way and it has something to do with the way SE has FFXIV set up. Please don't come on here thinking its only about our ISPs, it's not. SE needs to work with the ISPs to resolve this and figure out why it is being flagged this way.Just wanted to give a heads-up that I'm having zero problems. We pay SE to play their game. They work to make sure our gaming experience is exceptional when it's not client based. Not the other way around. Why is it my responsibility to call my ISP and have them try and resolve the issue with port forwarding or some other method? I shouldn't have to go out of my way to resolve an issue of Square Enix's that shouldn't be there in the first place as a paying customer. Especially when it is ONLY this MMO. That tells me it's something not only on the ISPs part, but SEs as well. So please, I love this game as much as the next person, but don't defend a company due to their inability to perform as well as they should. Kthx.

I completely agree with you Ezenthor. I was gone for about 2 weeks. Come back on Friday, there was no lag whatsoever. Or any spikings. Until today. Today has been nothing but a freaking lagfest. I'm also sick of this crap. I want to play a damn game I pay for. Not play a lagfest game.

90ks, f'ing lag fest galore. When will this shit be fixed? Seriously? Sorry devs if my language offends you and my attitude. But seriously, when will this crap end? It takes freaking forever to even get off one freaking heal spell. And now 90ks. It was SO good Friday-Sunday, but comes weekdays and then game play goes to shit. I just want to be able to paly without this crap going on. How am I to play when I don't get nothing but lag and 90ks?

This is not a universal issue. I haven't had any issues at all and neither have others I've spoken to that live in my region and have the same ISP (Comcast in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs and South Jersey). I get consistently excellent connections and speeds of 40-90 ms. This is definitely an issue on your ISP's end. Maybe the routing is bad, who knows. But there's enough people without issues that it's hard to blame it on SE's servers or their setup.

Then tell me something, how is it that I have 0 lag, that's right ZERO Friday-Sunday. And on Monday, til now, I have stupid horrible lag that is f'ed up? It was going so damn well for those few days. But now? No. It is difinately SE's fault. I literally have tried everything. Called into my ISP and all. If people are getting lag all teh time, and they tried everything to fix it, called in and all...then what else is there to do? Not only the lag fest, but also random 90ks.
EDIT: It only seems to work very well is early in the morning. But when it is afternoon/evening/night, then it becomes a problem.

During the morning most people are heading to work. The times you listed are when they're all coming back and if you're all riding the same path you're going to be hit with congestion. Then tell me something, how is it that I have 0 lag, that's right ZERO Friday-Sunday. "What else is there to do?"
VPN
Keep calling your ISP
PPTP a DD-WRT supported router
Report your ISP to the FCC
Get your ISP to reroute you(not likely with Verizon) :/
Sit on your hands and wait until it magicly repairs itself for another 5mo then breaks again
Quit.
These are your options.
