DQ9 had some pretty dark moments if it's really intended for 5 year olds.
I hope the Treasure Map system makes a return in 10 but expanded more than before. That stuff was addicting.

it doesnt really matter, its not an MMO. If it anything like how they treated monster hunter for wii over hear, we likely wont have to pay for anything online....and tbh the game would BOMB over here if they made US +EU Wii owners pay a monthly fee for whats not even an MMO.
Most people who own the wii barely buy games as it is, but asking them to pay a monthly fee would be begging for your game to fail int he west.
As for story, well honstly DQ lately has been pretty lighthearted on story, and this game looking like those ones and being on wii = expect the same thing.
MMO + DQ + Wii = huh?
/facepalm
Sqaure seriously stop this BS. I'm tired of MMOs that are slightly related to the series being counted as normal games in the series. Call it Dragon Quest Online like you should. And while you're at it, renumber the FF games.
No one expects the miquote inquisition!!!
Whats wrong with a online game carrying a numeral? Is it somehow less qualified? FFXI had just as epic as a story as any other FF game, it just did it in a different fashion.
Would I like FFXI and XIV to be called FF Online 1 and 2? Yes, but I am not going to be like you and whine, piss, and moan about it.
DQ9 was made with multiplayer in mind and it was a ton of fun and handled it really well, so much that so many players were clamoring about it being able to go online.
As far as a numbered game series losing its way or credibility because of it being online or an MMO, I completely dissagree. I have played several MMO, and most of the Final Fantasy series. I can say without a doubt that Final Fantasy XI is at the top of story telling in both categories. Maybe not number 1 on the FF list, but certainly #1 in the MMO genre and I refuse to budge on this. Any person who says Final Fantasy XI or XIV for that matter dosent feel like a Final Fantasy is a moron in my book.
I have no doubts the same attention to details (in story telling and lore) will be made in DQX to make it feel like a Dragon Quest title.
As long as it's hub-based, monster hunter style with instanced battles (I think that's what the video showed, where other players we're shadowed outside the battle) AND as long as it's free to play, then I am 100% ok with this and I will happily play this on my Wii.
Gameplay looks XI-awful-and-dated. On top of that it's on the kiddie console.
Gogogo Wii-U limitations!

FF11 looks anything but awful even by todays standards its still high quality. Even recently introduced games such as Rift dont even compare as to how soundly FF11 was made and WoW that was introduced afterwards looks like crap..... even Aion etc introduced afterwards look like crap. I know cus i try most MMOs.

Edit: On the visual side, whatever, I've seen enough fanboys say that XIV looks better than this so I'm not going to bother arguing about it.
