If SE decide to change the locations for JP servers then yes, japanese players would also get some days maintenence.

Do we even know if NA will be down as well? if not lets not hit the panic button just yet. But i do think if they need to take NA down to update the EU worlds then Japan needs to go down as well. Why? well it be fair and if not at least give NA players some sort of free b for the wait.

Such as me I play on moogle when the EU servers get transferred to the EU data center will I have to server transfer. If so what would happen to the 2 houses my husband bought that also plays on moogle. I really hope that SE won't make me transfer servers though especially since all my friends that I have met on this game play on moogle.

Nobody will get forced to transfer. Everything will get copied 1:1

You won't be forced to transfer, but if you don't, you will have to suffer the delay us EU players have been suffering this whole time.

Ever heard of oceanic servers? I'm sorry but they shouldn't be selling there game in a country if they can't even provide a good service. Look at nosgoth, they managed to put oceanic server in for that game and it's tiny compared to ffxiv! Seems abit silly that we have to play on one server in hopes of finding people that talk English >__> not to mention that character creation is always full on toneberry..

Not even that. I'm saying that they shouldn't have to play on servers designed for use by Japanese speaking players because SE can't stick the NA servers(since most games direct AU to NA servers because English) in a location that's more favorable.

Servers are in Montreal because of the European group. Move them and there's no reason to keep the NA servers in that unstable network dive. The latency from AU to Cali >> AU to east coast.

For full disclosure, I'm American and have Aussie friends. Lots of them. I actually play on EU times though.

The usual maintenance is like what? 2-5 hours? Nothing to write home about.

I hope they offer a period of free transfers just before/after the big EU move.

They really should offer a way for EU players to freely move to the EU servers and NA players to freely move away from the EU servers (of course it doesn't have to be limited to EU/NA players) without players having to lose their free companies, houses and gil.
