People are supposed to set their own goals. Do you really need a game that tells you what you want to do?

so if i released a game where all you do is kill bunnies for no other purpose than leveling up you would claim its a work of art? FFXIV is no elder scrolls...

edit: let me put it another way.

set 50 as your goal: reach 50. Only diff from 36 is you can now do 45 raids, 4ish sidequests that are pointless, 2 or 3 lame story quests that you can solo at rank 1, and "hnms" which no one does.

set saving up 100mil gil as your goal: congrats, nothing in the game is worth over 5mil. you can look at your inventory and be like "im elite".

get the picture? No matter what your goal is, you won't get anything special out of it because the game is so simple that any casual player can pretty well have everything. So essentially the only goal you can have is to waste time with the hopes that you benefit from it in the future. Because crafting is essentially hitting 1 button over and over again for hours, and so is SP'ing in parties....
