Wait, what? From a recent interview. Yoshida thinks we are ok with darkside...
JPGames.de: The Dark Knight ability „Darkside“ features red light floating around the character which is irritating to some players. Are there plans for allowing players to manually adjust the effect?
NY: It was fixed two emergency maintenances before, it should be fixed. (Naoki Yoshida goes to a TV screen where the effect is displayed and points at it.) When it was first implemented, the aura was really strong and people could not see through it. Now that we reduced it, the overall feedback settled down and players are fine with the color. Probably your friends
It still looks super ugly. Worst effect in the game by far.
You can barely see it now And or just make it out in a bright environment or light area Why the heck do you want it completely gone that I'll never understand.
It looks exactly the same to me, I really don't see any change or "fix".
It's still an unattractive effect that is distracting and too " in your face" when it shouldn't be (in town) and completely disappears amongst other effects when you do actually want to see it (in combat).
Far from being "fixed" imo.

... this thread is still going? Seriously?
But yes, the aura effect actually has been dimmed a bit in how bright it is. Just not by a whole lot. Hell, I never even notice it in combat anymore due to all the other flashy lights that go on. Only times I do notice it is when I'm not in combat... and even then it doesn't bother me that much.
In regards to a way earlier post I made in here, I stand firm in that while I agree it should obey the graphic settings like the other special effects, I'm also hardly bothered by it at all. It's not what I was hoping to have for a Dark Knight aura personally, (Red glowing eyes and the black flames coming off the body was what I was expecting) and I won't complain if it changes, but I've seen far worse things than this aura.
That's like saying you can barely smell rotting garbage when you're next to a hog barn. There are a few zones that are too bright to read the chat log.
I don't find it irritating but that doesn't mean I like it aesthetically. It spans too far from the players and looks boring me. It's called Dark Aura and it's not Dark at all. I vote for a different effect. Give us subtle Black Flames or Dark Purple flames or smth which will not span so far away from the character it's a simple redesign and it will not take a lot of time to implement. Everyone will be happy and players with eye problem won't complain. It's simple as that.
If the effect was condensed around the character it would help a bit. Especially if the effect used more then "light pink-red" as a color. More blacks.I don't find it irritating but that doesn't mean I like it aesthetically. It spans too far from the players and looks boring me. It's called Dark Aura and it's not Dark at all. It's not fixed till we get the ability to not see it, like other effects. Still very annoyed by it.
To be honest, I didn't even know that it was "fixed" until I read the interview. It's still ugly and annoying as hell.
And, as has been pointed, you can't disable it either yet. If you don't want to further (?) modify it, please, give us the option to disable it. And just that single effect, please, as it's the only one I have a problem with.
Simply make it behave like all the other player effects that can be turned on or off by the client with a single option. The way Yoshi talks about it, it almost sounds like some kind of sacred cow that will not be touched simply because the team likes it.To be honest, I didn't even know that it was "fixed" until I read the interview.
