I'm transferring to a JP server this week, getting ahead of this curve. I'm on Odin with 240ms pings. EU will put me at 400+. Thankfully JP is only around 100-110, not ideal either, but hope to see significant latency improvements.

In this case, considering the amount of data, it'd make more sense to copy it locally and then physically fly the servers over the Atlantic to their new home. That's why the maintenance is going to take so long. A day to copy stuff, a day to test it locally, fly it over the pond, a day to set it up, another day to test once more to ensure it's going to work - yeah, 4-5 days sounds about right for a major server migration like that.

I'm more curious what happens to our eso cap during that time. Will the cap be carried on top of the next weeks cap (stacking) or will we be out of luck? Some of us don't play the game every single day.

That's just asking to piss off a much larger player base than is necessary. Those that will want to migrate to the new data centers, will. I am willing to bet some kind of free transfer will be mentioned for those that wish to play on an EU server as well...

Course, this is nothing but assumptions...

Because they can move all of them to a data center in the US, west coast to help the Aussies, and get it out of that atrocity that is the shitty one in Montreal that has long standing connection issues to much of the states.

I have a feeling it'll affect ALL worlds, since server migration is best when they're down.
Plus...the servers affected are on th NA servers.

Not our faults that SE decided to group you with us. No sense in advocating for us to "suck it up" as if we had some sort of say in the matter. Very childish.

We have a right to be upset, particularly if we get our servers taken down for as long as yours with no reimbursement. You are benefiting from the moving, NA players are not, but may still suffer.

it benefits you cause there will be less stress on your servers, with less lag, and que times.

for the same reason that legacy players were stuck on legacy servers, to not mess up the economy on a new server.
