Holy crap, having never played XI, I just assumed it was more of the same as FFXIV in this regard. But now that I know they had a better system in their old game than they do in their new one... wtf were you thinking, SE? XD

Theres actually quite a lot of good systems they did in XI, that somehow they managed to either screw up or did them backwards in XIV lol Like how XI has a variety of interesting content that feels different from the rest and keeps you playing everyday, all day and every single month, while in XIV, we just get 2 dungeons and 4 bosses that get outdated and thrown away the next update, causing people to take breaks for months and really makes it feel more like a mobile/facebook game than a mmo :/ Sort of feels like SE really put a lot of love and effort into XI, while in XIV, didn't care much and only cared about money, rather than the thing they've created (old event items in XI are buyable with gil from a npc. Each year. Every year. XIV? $$$$). That's one of the big things a lot of companies who make mmos forget these days. They don't look at their mmo as their child anymore, they just see it as a cash cow
It actually makes you wonder if it's even the same company who did both

No thanks. Classes should have unique looks.
I will be okay with this if it happens as long as job-specific gear stays job specific, though.

The system described in FFXI was literally only added in the last year. XI, for more than a decade, did not allow glamours at all. If you looked like you were wearing level 1 gear, it's because you were wearing level 1 gear.
