Hear 2 people greeting with "Bonjour" and one wih "Ciao"
So, basically he's saying:
-His wife isn't very good at the game
-The game is too easy
-nid voice chat
-mch is too simple
-ast is too hard
-a lot of drks are dumb
Basically I think most peoples problem with being bad at the game stem from two points.
1. They don't read.
2. GCD vs OGCD is not explained
The first is very obvious when you consider how much the game handholds you with the hint system and everything else. Also If people looked at what their skills did instead of just assuming I got a new one it must be better I only use that now.
The second is really odd and I didn't consider it until I thought about it. No where in the game does it explain the difference between the ability types at least not that I could remember or find but then I could be falling prey to point 1.
all in all I think he had some fair points though I agree with most people on the chat front, no voice chat please I don't want to hear that and if it is implemented it should be disabled by default.
Complains about endgame. Hasn't completed endgame. Guess he found it too hard to complete, so obviously endgame is a joke.
Also, the chat thing is wtf. His wife turned off chat because, idk, she's a moron and doesn't think it's condusive, so he blames poor game design? LOL. I can't think of anything worse than going into a 4 man dungeon with voice chat with strangers and having trolls shouting obscenities. Isn't that a feature best left along for FPS games?
Then he goes on and on complaining about how everyone can easily get to level 50 (um, the cap is 60 now and the grind a lot bigger to reach the cap).
Also he refers to Machinist as MCT. His complaint about "MCT" is that it isn't creative enough? That's fine, matter of opinion. He also thinks it should be "the most creative job". Um. Why? That's not a valid statement or complaint, because that's his opinion on what makes something creative.
His DRK paragraph is pretty moot seen as he hasn't levelled his DRK, however I will say I've played with a lot of DRKs since its release, and I've yet to meet one who thought it was DPS class.
I also hate when people fixate on how people reach max level without learning their class and just "button bash" through fights. Why don't you focus on bettering yourself instead of the guy who hasn't figured out how to use his positionals yet? You'll always get good players and bad players. Just because there are bad players doesn't make the game too easy or poor design. You'll ALWAYS get bad players in ANY game. Invalid complaint.
He may have been playing since beta, but I wonder how much of that time he spent actually paying attention to the game and how it plays, or whether he just spent the whole time watching his dumb ("she does not adapt") chat-ignoring spouse ("my wife disabled chat all together") face rolling ("she plays without regard to their words") dungeons. Maybe he should write a blog post to his wife?
Yoshi-P is doing his best and is patching Endwalker. Please wait warmly until it is ready.
Provoke was only added to Viking in the DS version of the game. Besides making it more likely that an enemy targeted you, it also reduced the defense of said enemy. Regardless, in the NDS remake Vikings also had one of the highest (if not highest) attack power ratings in the game.
TIL people think having one boss be difficult = difficult endgame. Why is it that 90% of the time people who refer to end-game as a "joke" and talk about how the game is too easy never have the Wind-up Louisoix minion that indicates they've cleared T13, let alone the NEW end-game, Savage?
(Hint: This guy doesn't either.)
Makes you think.
(Hint: FFXI endgame was not hard just because AV was impossible to kill)
Makes you think.
I agree with some points from the blog, but not others.
Also: "Final Fight MMO"?! How dare he compare this game to the greatness of DFO!
