Not even close to all FF games have all of the jobs, there's WAY more FF jobs in total than most single FF games have. Tactics is like the only one to include most, and it's not even a main series title.

i was just listing some of my favoirts i was going to add more if someone wanted
Red Mage is probably a given. Yoshi-P's said a couple times that he'd like to get RDM in since it's the only one of the 6 original FF jobs that we still don't have.
Personally I'd like to see BLU as a tank... it'd be interesting, and there aren't a whole lot of FF jobs left that are distinctive and can easily be worked into tanks.
Let me preface this by stating that it's (mostly) just my opinion.Hey, I'm with you there. Two separate games are two separate games, but his post didn't include anything about that. He was just talking about the possibility of a couple jobs showing up in FFXIV and you told him to (politely) shut up. You're projecting motives onto him that aren't in the post.
That said, how is a Final Fantasy fan wanting puppet master included any different than a fan wanting Blue Mage?
Anyone who mentions PUP can pretty much instantly be identified as an XI veteran (fanboy / fangirl), since that class exists only in XI. Put plainly, it doesn't have the history a lot of other classes (Red Mage, Geomancer, Blue Mage, Samurai) do, nor is it anywhere near as iconic. Given I got DRK I don't particularly care one way or another, but I'd much rather see legacy classes or new classes than one that existed only in XI before that (especially given PUP was basically just a replacement for Necromancer when they decided not to implement that class). It's a matter of the class having a history or being unique, compared to something like PUP whose only argument for inclusion I can think of is "I liked it in XI."
Why is it I'd rather have legacy classes or new classes? Well, it's important to remember the past, which is why we need legacy (iconic) classes. Some things need to remain constant. At the same time, we need to forge ahead and not be afraid to create something new - creating new classes does exactly that. Leaving rare/unique classes in their own game (such as XI's PUP) lets both it and XIV have their own identity by having something the other doesn't. (MCH, for example, is unique to XIV, so it's "an XIV class," not "a Final Fantasy class.")
Beastmaster falls under a similar problem to me. It's from V, and aside from that game only appears in X-2 and XI, though elements of it do exist in other games (such as VII's Manipulate materia).
Blue Mage, on the other hand, has been around since V in some form or another. Though not the oldest, it definitely has a history and is one of the few classes Final Fantasy can truly call its own (a lot of the classes / jobs in Final Fantasy are almost omnipresent in RPGs). It's iconic to Final Fantasy fans in general, not just XI veterans, so by that token I consider it more worthy of inclusion than something like Puppetmaster.
... I admit I'm biased, and someone mentioning stuff from XI leads me to jump to conclusions. In my defense, from what I've experienced XI veterans are notorious for wanting XIV to be XI-2 in all but name, so it's not entirely unfounded, and mentioning BLU, BST, and PUP (the last of which is exclusive to XI) sets off certain flags. I do try and keep an impartial stance, but I'm only human.
Again, just my two cents.

Sorry if I come off a little strong, I'm a huge Puppetmaster fan so you hit a bit of a nerve. While I disagree in part, I do see where you're coming from. Some jobs don't have the same history that others do and if FFXIV neglected that it wouldn't feel much like a Final Fantasy game. Though I'd argue the history is only important to a point. All of the jobs at one time had no history in the series and if they were left as one time additions than they would never have risen to their iconic state. I don't think its wrong for FFXI fans to wish for classes they enjoyed to make a return in FFXIV.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
I never played ff11, I want pup added because I like the idea of a DOW pet class that's not going to be some variant of "I tame animals!". Every game has its hunter, beastmaster or whatever they are renaming ranger as but I can't think of anything like Pup outside Robotics MM in COV.
As long as we're talking classes we'd like added, I never played ff11 at all but I read about it's Rune Knight and thought it sounded awesom. Also, the day the add Samurai will benthe day I retier my lance once and for all. (Dark Knight just didn't hit the cool scale like I was hoping, though I chose it and MCH over Pld and BRD as my off classes.)
Rune Knight is just a variant of Mystic Knight, a.k.a. Sword Mage. If they do add it it'll probably be a tank class.
... but good news, chances of Samurai being the next tank class are pretty high! It was a tossup between Dark Knight and Samurai for being in 3.0, and they decided on Dark Knight because they didn't want to put in an Eastern-culture heavy class so soon after NIN. We already have Doma (Eorzea!Japan), so it's just a matter of waiting for Samurai refugees to arrive or going there ourselves...
If we're going to talk classes we'd like, again, I don't particularly care, but...
Red Mage would be cool, being the only class from the original Final Fantasy not yet represented. That said, I can't see how it would work in XIV since it's intended to be a mix of White and Black Mage, both of which are already in-game and eclipse Red Mage in terms of sheer power on either axis. It's a valuable class in old-school RPGs, but I can't see how they would implement it with XIV's strict combat roles.
Geomancer would also be neat as a caster DPS. Be interesting to see how they implement it.
If not Samurai, then I'd like Viking to be the next tank job. It's not the most iconic, but it's still pretty cool and not hard to design IMO. Very similar to WAR though.
Blue Mage, obviously, is one of my most desired options. Being iconic to Final Fantasy fans as well as one of the few classes the franchise can truly call its own, it's something they almost have to implement in the future.
For healing jobs, something like Druid or Shaman would be neat, but given CNJ / WHM already have elements of those classes I don't see how that would happen. Not particularly attached to those classes, either.
Beyond that, I'd like to see what the XIV team can cook up.

I've been sitting here begging for SE to pull a ACN>SCH/SMN type deal by making Geomancer a combat oriented path off of CNJ, but with the precedent of the HW jobs starting at thirty, i feel even better about asking for it! Give em wands/bells and a small sheild and we'd have my dream job.
Perhaps in the future.
AST is really fun, but I agree, it needs some balancing bad. I think it needs more umph in the cards to make up for the healing and keep the flair of it and balance between the jobs.
IMHO. I don't see that not having class/job (insert name here) is a 'must' or it's not a Final Fantasy game. I would like to see new ideas, I admit seeing a reoccurring events, characters, or classes/jobs is nice and nostalgic. Yet one should not try to paint XIV with older FF titles. Afterall we are seeking a new Fantasy that we want to see and explore.
