Dalamud and today's picture on the Lodestone's entry

On a more localisation standpoint, I can't see the Raven's logo - I just see a white strip in it's place. (coding error?)

On the topic of Dalamud, here's an extract from my last journal entry:

My attention is drawn to the recent meteorite shower across Eorzea. It turns out that these meteorites contained more than mere celestial ore (of which I was sure to collect a few samples) but also the building-blocks to allow the spawning of voidsent Bombards. Now the adventurer's guild was able to commission many adventurers to deal with the Bombards by means of the Firefall Faire over the later summer month. However, what would have occurred if the voidsent had been left unchecked?

If Dalamud were also impacted by the meteor shower, it would stand to reason that he too would have experienced the spawning of voidsent but with nothing to restrain them, which may well be cause for the staining of his surface in their explosive population's firey red.

As for why Dalamud is black in the picture and Menphina is red, maybe we'll see in a few days if anything changes. At the very least, the rodent is holding one of the earrings in the currently understood representation.

That's not Dalamud, is it? There is a big purple/red star in the sky too...i believe it might be this one.

I've been trying to see the moon since the event was announced but for some reason its always cloudy or foggy weather >< i'll try again now.

EDIT: I refrain what i said...it does is Dalamud...and really damn far from moon... o_o

I just hope they're not removing Dalamud too because there was only one moon in FFXI... >_>

Dalamud moves around Menphina, sometimes it goes that far, while other times very close to her:

So in this case it shouldn't be nothing new, but maybe the voidsents team could shed some light on Dalamud's cycles as well...

I think we are seeing a zoomed in
Dalamund which is possible since moons can be pretty big. The spiky object looks like it could be something man made. Garlean tech perhaps? After experiencing rank 46 mission cutscene I wont rule that out.

It seems that MZ might not have been far off when he brought about the idea of Moon Content, someday. Even the devs keep referring to the greater moon as "The Moon" and Dalamud as a "celestial body." While suspicious, it does make me question a lot of things.

Is Dalamud really a moon? 'Celestial Body' does denote a natural object, but maybe the term is being used loosely. Perhaps the red hue it takes is an activation protocol of some kind; some kind of Magitek that powers a sort of base of operations that we'll have to invade someday a la FFXI's Tu'Lia...

And all of this is only if the wrong moon was colored red, otherwise we really do have a crazy spikey object orbiting the celestial body that is orbiting the moon that is orbiting our home planet that is, unbeknownst to Eorzeans, orbiting a sun somewhere?! I don't even think gravity ALLOWS for that. Five orbitations at one time!? BUT NO ONE CAN LIVE AT THAT SPEED!

OH THE QUESTIONS THIS ARTIST AS SPRUNED ON....

Respectfully kidnap the artist from their office and bring them to the localization forums!
The English-Spoken have questions!

早耳、地獄耳のキピ・ジャッキヤです。

今回もまた、街で噂の不思議な出来事をリポートするね。

何といっても今いちばん旬な話題といえば、小月ダラガブの様子がおかしいって話よね。

おさらいしておくけど、ダラガブはお月様の周りをぐるぐる巡る小さな月のことで、天文学者は「衛星である月を周回する孫衛星」って呼んでいるわ。
でも、私たちにとっては、月神メネフィナ様の番犬としての方が馴染み深いよね。メネフィナ様を害する魔物が現れたら、こわ～い番犬ダラガブが出てきて、ガブリとひと噛みして追い払うっていう神話を聞かされて育った人も多いんじゃないかしら？そのダラガブが放つ光が徐々に赤みを増し始めたものだから、普段は夜空に興味がない人でさえ毎晩、月を見上げてるってわけ。中には凶兆じゃないかって騒いでる人もいるみたいだけど、確かに原因がわからないのは不安よね。


そうそう、月といえばとあるウルダハの彫金師さんが、双月をモチーフにしたイヤリングを作ったものの盗まれてしまったとかで、大声で嘆いているのを見かけたわ。件の彫金師ヨルドウィンさんが言うには、冒険者ギルドからボンバード退治に協力してくれた冒険者さんたちへの褒章品として、大量のイヤリングの発注を受けたそうなの。そこで、月に見立てた大振りのパールに、ボンバード騒動のときに回収された隕石を砕いて作った赤い小月のペンダントをつけて、イヤリングを作ったんだって。ところが完成した品を納品するため、各地に送る最中に「大きな白いネズミ」に盗まれてしまったっていうから、さぁ、大変。

でも、本当にネズミがイヤリングを盗んだりするのかしら？

昔っから、訓練したネズミで盗みを働く宝石泥棒「マウスボーイ」の存在が囁かれていたけれど、あれって出所不明の都市伝説の類よ？　そんなわけで、ヨルドウィンさんは納期に間に合わなかったものだから、嘘をついてごまかしているのだと思われてるみたい。

さてはて、真相はどうなのかしら？

もし、街中で大声を出して嘆いている彫金師さんを見かけたら、話を聞いてあげるのもいいかもね。

Pretty sure the Moon characters are all referring to the larger moon. 衛星 should be the smaller object--Dalamud. Only problem is that it's not overly helpful, because those characters are just saying it's the larger moon's defender. Would probably also help if I actually knew Japanese, and weren't translating this through a dictionary that's primarily Chinese to Korean.
