Yeah I finally got the DWT and it sure is putting a dent in my ability to maximize AoE DPS. By the time I get DWT, my shadow flare ends along with my other DoTs on other targets, and with no charges for bane I'm struck down Misma2, Shadow Flare, and Bliz 2 for all targets excluding the one I Tri-Disaster.
How to deal with this?
Also, I'm wondering how many forums and stuff backing this whole bliz2 thing. All this research and I'm still gone on deaf ears by the peeps I keep getting in arguments with, because "OH IT'S WEAK", or "OH IT SUCKS FOR BLM THEREFORE IT SUCKS ALL FOR ALL" or "OH YOU USE IT ONLY FOR THE BIND"
if you have any naysayers about blizz2 just ask them if they prefer an 80 potency attack to a 100+ potency attack, suppose there are 4 mobs, that's 200 potency. Unless you want to burn a very specific target down, blizz twooooooooooooooooo
Tri-disaster, Contagion, and Aetherflow are all 60s, so you can get them to line up easily. Since you have 3 stacks of 30s each, you can essentially enter DWT whenever you want, timing it for Aetherflow and getting Shadow Flare up first.Yeah I finally got the DWT and it sure is putting a dent in my ability to maximize AoE DPS. Blizzard 2 is pure math. 2 targets always beats Ruin 1/2, 3 targets always beats Ruin 3. That's not arguable. Only thing arguable is if the tank/leader wants a specific mob burned first.
I assume you're talking about dungeons. If using Garuda in a dungeon pull with high total group DPS:Yeah I finally got the DWT and it sure is putting a dent in my ability to maximize AoE DPS. RS + Swiftcast Shadow Flare > 3D + Painflare, Contagion > M2 > Rouse + Spur > B2 > Bane (would be earlier but Garuda takes its time, just do it earlier if it goes quick) > Aerial Slash > B2 > Painflare > B2 > Enkindle > DWT > B2 spam > Deathflare
If anyone else is at all pulling their weight, you will double the next highest person and things should be dead shortly after, allowing you to do a 3 stack rotation on the next pull. If they're not, you can try a slower rotation that's more total DPS for 3 stacks:
Bio 2 > Miasma > Bio > Pain + Bane > SC Shadow Flare > Rouse + Spur > M2 > Aerial Slash, RS + Enkindle > B2 > B2 > Painflare > DWT > B2 > Aetherflow > B2 > 3D + Contagion > B2 > Bane if it's Contagioned > B2s > Deathflare
If the pull requires more Aetherflow stacks than this, weep as you realize you have picked up PUG DPS, and wing it after with more Painflares mostly into an early extra Deathflare.
Ifrit is mostly the same except you want to do the second rotation by default, unless you have really high group DPS and you can get away with a 3D Bane into 2 Painflares and the pull's done around the time of your Deathflare anyway. Use Radiant Shield of course.

I have no idea why people keep bashing Blizzard 2... after my dots and all the tralalala, I'm spamming it like a lvl50 blm would spam fire. It's very simple, Blizzard 2 is the best filler skill for when there are 2 or more targets. Unless you're in DWT, then use Ruin 3 for 2 targets, and Blizzard 2 for 3 or more targets.
I tried to make the some of the first my new default like 2 weeks ago. It got too clunky for my liking. So yeah I went with a lot of the 2nd rotation with Ifrit as always.
I pretty much use Ifrit by default cause Garuda won't stay put when a thing dies. She just comes to me when I don't tell her to stay, sure I can do that, but then I'd be swung in circles having to buff and enkindle her while she's behind me and swinging around is the last thing I need when evading AoEs. I can't stand the delay the Contagion has. And she got nothing like Radiant Sheild, so until I end up in fights where Ifrit constantly gets pushed back (like at the end of ST), DoT/debuffed at melee (somewhere!), or instant-killed at melee range(AV), I don't want to put up with that extra hassle of management. xD
It saddens me that most mobs do die super fast, but I'm happy they all die at the same time. xD
Believe me, every time I ended up in the argument, it turns out I'm the only one listing numbers. And it is super frustrating.
