Yo who can't buy a house?

I appreciate every update given, and my thinking's looking pretty solid here. Housing plots all being taken is a fairly common problem on servers, not a relatively rare one.

At this point, the best that we can hope for is maybe make instanced housing. Maybe make it so it's Data-center wide instances (like dungeons, PvP, etc) than doing on individual servers?

Malboro sold out everywhere for months now, people relinquish small houses for around 10M, medium for 50-60M and large houses are relinquished for 300M+. i dont know how many plots will be added in the next residential district but i can already tell everything will be sold in the first hour after the patch.

And this is the crux of the problem with Gating content behind a wall of first-come-first-served. I would love to garden, colour my choco, and participate in the FC crafting and airship coming but alas, I fear it will be eternally out of reach for many of the players. As long as Personal Housing is a limited quantity, many paying players will never get to experience what is becoming a bigger and bigger portion of content.

Could you imagine if Alexander was structured this way? We have enough instances of Alexander normal for about 24% of the playerbase per server. Once those people have unlocked it, no one else can enter it until they give up their license to enter it. It will not ever be relinquished if a players subscription becomes dormant (hey, they might come back) and if you are lucky we might add in more licenses eventually.

FC houses are ok like this but Personal houses should never have shared the same space. SE needs to fix this before adding in ANY more content linked to housing. Wada would be on his ass over this, or maybe its why he left...

Then your list should be empty, because it's not impossible to get houses. just because you don't want to pay extra to get a house doesn't mean there is no housing.

Its a pity SE did not simply go with instanced plots of land for personal housing, and leave the current non-instanced 1440 lots exclusively for FCs. Then everyone could have their garden and stable but would need to belong to an FC with a house in order to have a workshop and benefit from FC actions.

As I stated the other day in another thread about this: I honestly think there needs to be a 60 day abandoned property limit on houses. Especially on high populated servers. If a home owner / FC is offline for 60 days, the property is flagged as abandoned and put up for resale. If they log back in after 60 days, they can go to the housing guy and get their housing items back, but they are S.O.L. for the property. If you want to maintain ownership of the property: keep an active account and log in at least once every two months. This would be a big step toward solving the housing issue, speed up the turn over rate, lessen the need for many many many wards.

I have a feeling you're going to hate me, but, I came back to the game with under 50,000 gil about a week and a half ago. I was the ONLY player that had logged on in my FC for like 4(?) months and automatically became the FC leader. I booted the people who never logged back in after a week and now I am the sole member of Mercenaries on Excalibur with my private FC home :O
