The Fish sense something asmiss. WTF?

I'm trying to do my l60 job quest (catkiller). I did a few casts in the location then stopped as I figured I needed different weather (not umbral wind). I then did some crafting, mats hunting, etc. all in different locations before coming back once the weather had cleared.

"The fish sense something amiss" and was unable to get a single cast. WTF? I just got here and it's been almost a complete day since I was last fishing that spot.

How does this work? Very frustrating.

The basic idea i have of how this works is that once you start to fish a spot, it starts a timer. After a certain period, it expires. the timer is only reset once you fish at another spot.

Best way to avoid your situation, find a teleport with a fishing spot right next to it. this way you can port to reset it easily.

Often even a slight movement will satisfy it, so just take a few steps and try again. Some locations are pickier, and for those you'll have to move to a different fishing hole, fish once, and then you can go back.

That happens because you start two timers when you first cast. The shorter first one is satisfied by just moving a few paces away from where you were fishing, but the longer second one needs a full reset by casting at a different fishing hole.

To fix this you just go to the other side of the fishing hole. As noted some spots are more annoying than others. Places where you fish of a cliff for instance can be problematic (specifically if you fished in the middle and got locked out there). Best you can do is alternate two fishing holes. Followed by fishing two sides (or opposite sides) of the same hole.
