Recruit a friend: High Population servers

Hi.

I play on one of the most highly populated servers on the US clusters, Balmung. Recently I asked a real life friend of mine to join me in playing FFXIV.

However upon purchasing the game and registering her account we haven't even been able to play together once due to the character creation restrictions on my server. We have waited a few days, stayed up past 2 am to wait for it to open (GMT+12) with no luck.

What I would like to see implemented is a -one character- creation allowance allowed for those on the recruit a friend service. To allow those who are connected through recruit a friend to create one character on the server you play on.

I really don't want to make my friend pay for a game we cant play together, and i don't want to pay to have to play with her on another server where all my other friends are now from 1.0.

Please, please square. Fix this.

While this is a great idea, currently the flat character cap on the server has been reached, it seems. Even when there is no login queue, it's still blocking character creation, which means that until people either delete characters, transfer servers, or SE finds a way to increase the character cap without increasing sub fees to pay for the additional server space lease, we're stuck. Only thing that can be suggested at this point is you both go to a lower pop server

While I understand the OP's concern, you hit it on the head with this. Not much you can do at this point.
