    [DRK] Suggestion - Remove bonus enmity gain from Abyssal Drain

    Right now DRK got to aoe enmity skills
    Unleash which is a lvl 8 skill and Abyssal Drain which is unlocked at 56.

    The difference in these is that Abyssal Drain is Unmend combined with Unleash and an optional Souleater through Dark arts and a 20% increase in mana cost from unleashed but 10% less mana cost than Unmend and Unleash combined.

    In other words Abyssal Drain is universally better than the previous skills.

    So what could be done to make so that Abyssal Drain doesn't shaft Unmend/Unleash? By removing the enmity bonus from it.

    Now there is more of a reason to keep unleashed if you want maintain the trash, but Abyssal Drain is still usefull for bonus damadge and a life steal.

    This would also provide DRK with a spamable aoe ability that doesn't make all adds focus you which would be usefull in certain situations where you got 2 tanks and a lot of trash.

    Edit: Do not forget that with or without Enmity gain Abyssal Drain is still affected by grit along with all other offensive DRK skills. So Abyssal Drain will still be usefull to pickup and tag trash along the way as long as the healer isn't spamming. The idea for this change is nothing more than distance Unleash and Abyssal Drain from eachother rather that having AD overide unleashed.

    No. DRK needs to be focused by mobs in order to spam AoEs because of Blood Price. Without Blood Price you won't last long spamming Abyssal Drain.

    I'd rather see Unleash be made into a TP move instead or something to set them apart.

    Have you looked at the mp cost to use Abyssal Drain? And to use it with Dark Arts? Its much closer to being the same as Circle of Scion For PLD rather than being a second flash. Also, circle does infact add emnity now. DRK could use some small balance fixes but not with this.

    Unleash is your initial aggro gatherer until all the mobs are correctly grouped then you use drain. They both have their uses.

    I use it a lot for chain pulling groups at a distance, this would be a nerf.

    I still use unleash even with abyssal, its easier on mp on the intial pull.

    Abyssal Drain is the only spell that is a ranged aoe enmity spell. Thus DRK is the only tank that is able to catch groups of ennemies from distance. Unleash is working best has being used right after unmend because of the possible free unleash but also because it costs less mana. Abyssal drain does more damage but has a smaller area of effect. You'll use Abyssal Drain when the mobs are properly packed mostly because in dungeon it's almost impossible to catch every single mob with it.

    On A1 instead of having to goes behind the boss to catch adds, I can just use abyssal drain from distance to place them correctly. Will probably find a similar use later on.

    In the end this spell doesn't need to be reworked as it works well with the DRK's kit.

    Drain is more efficient than Unleash if you factor in darkside, furthermore it is a dps gain.

    So unless you have mobs behind you or oddly spread (for instance, a very large mob that cannot be easily drained) you will never use unleash. It is a dps loss to do so.
