Emotes in the cash shop..

So I just started playing like 4-5 months ago.

Will there be no special obtainables for this event this year? I just have to buy last years?

Or will there be new stuff?

The cycle goes as thus.

New items for each new event this year. These items will be exclusive to this event until the next year, same time, similar event. The old event items go on sale in Mogstation shortly before the new items from the current event become available (through said event.)

In short:
New stuff stays exclusive for a year, then goes on sale a year later when we get more new stuff and last year's is old.

I personally hate the cash shop. I've been playing since beta, and before the shop came around they would just have an NPC sell the old event stuff for a couple of gil in game. Then the new stuff would be earned free thru questing. I don't understand why they can't continue that. Why now do I have to pay real money for old event items that i could get in game before from an NPC for some gil? It's unfair to new people. Especially since you pay real money for something and it doesn't even go to all the characters on the account.

Event rewards are offered in game for free during the event. If you aren't subscribed during the event period or join the game after the event is over, why would you expect to get those items? Heaven forbid anything actually be special in this game.

This is simply not how it has worked in the past. I am expecting SE to continue what they have done in the past, not asking for something new.

Get over it. Did you play this game a year ago when the Yukatas were given out in the event? No? Too bad. Be glad SE is letting you buy them. I would be livid if they kept recycling old event rewards every year just to give them to new ppl.

Actually yeah, I did play the game a year ago when the yukatas were given out. Just not on the character I'm playing now.

Did you forget that for a year, we had old AND new event gear available on the event vendors for gil? You people act like we're asking for the moon, when we're really expressing displeasure at SE changing a system that worked perfectly.

I'll chime in on the subject:

While it is nice to get those items available in some ways, the problem with the cash shop is as far as I know it isn't account wide. When I bought a pet in WoW, all my future characters got it. I read the minions and probably clothing you have to chose a character. Now that is the problem I have with it.

And while we are talking about the cash shop, why not put those items you had to buy a physical item there? I couldn't care less about the soundtracks or art book or plushies, but I'd like the minions.

Personal preferences, mostly. Some people have the idea that is something is released in game for free, it should stay free.

I can see the idea, but it kills any pretense of exclusivity. I'd rather have the items be one-time-only but I'm ok with them re-releasing them with a pay wall.

(didn't know if this was said yet or not) To me past years items of said event should be sold in game during the events, like this moonfire event items from last years should be sold in game, then after or before the events they could be sold on the MS, I would like to have the past years items for my new alts but I'm not willing to pay RL cash for them in a P2P game if it was a F2P then maybe...

Didn't bother me at all I feel like people are over dramatic about cash shops. They are OPTIONAL. Nobody is making you buy anything and the items aren't even that expensive. Seen games charge a lot more for special emotes paying like £1 for it is about as much as a candy bar and I get to keep the emote. It's seriously one of the most inexpensive cash shops I've seen for any game. The most expensive thing was a mount and I've seen game shops charge double that for a mount.
