A suggestion regarding height.

The proportions will probably start to look off in the case of male vs female Au Ra if they were given the same height range. (Since height just adjusts the character size, but not proportions)

It probably wouldn't matter for most other races though, since the gender height gap is smaller.

This is probably the most valid of all objections to the OP's suggestion. Go in the char creator and play with the height slider a bit. Notice that it's not actually a height slider per se, it's a scale slider. Going up makes the character bigger in all dimensions--which means taller = wider too.

That is not entirely correct. Everything requires developement time and thus money. The time devs would take to implement proper size scaling could be used to implement new cute bikinis or new twintails cute hairstyles for my waifu.

No more awkward that the foot difference between 1 and 10 with the girl roegadyn. With the exception of Roegadyn and Au Ra not a single race exceeds a foot difference between the shortest woman and the tallest guy. Besides, peolpe say "beggers aren't choosers" but that certainly doesn't mean we cant throw more scraps towards people who want QoL additions like this.

I know there's ways to increase height strictly client side via some.. things, and there was that glitch involving dismounting a while back, it doesn't look that odd, just "bigger" in a lazy way. Does it solve the problem? No, but it's better than nothing.

Wouldn't SE have to do some serious work? It's more than just "Give us an option in the character creator" they would have to redo gear and skill animations. I believe they would have to redo all the NPCs as well, I could be wrong. A lot of times in mmos majority of the npcs are made off the same character models.

I rather they give us butts, these horrible, horrible, flat butts have to go. D:

No, I'm fairly dure armor and skill animations function normally and look just fine. On girl roegadyn at height level 1 or 100 (a foot difference, ie what all races would be dealing with except the au ra and roegadyn ) they look perfectly fine, sure there may be some clipping or vaguely awkward looking models, but no more than what we've already got. I suppose they might have to make some changes to NPC, but I'm not sure either.

Butt slider requires either more data points to be spent per character (which isn't possible now) or would cause some really odd clipping with most gear (as they're not mapped to fit around butts with curves). It's a nice minor thing, and while I would say "think with the head on your shoulders not the one in between your legs", I'm actually curious why on earth is this user base obsessed with butts being the priority in any character customization suggestion thread.

It'd take more finessing with the Au Ra, but I don't see why it shouldn't be done. So yes, it's minor, should it still be done? Yes. You can't say "it's too minor to actually matter" whIle also going "it'd look too major or a change (in ways that don't affect me or my character)" the latter is why I quoted you previously.

Don't think with the head between my legs? I'm not sure how I would be able to do that since I'm a girl :P. I have a gripe about the butts in every mmo except Aion and Black Dessert. My culture is used to/likes bigger butts and I just think flat butts look horrible. In every game there's a boob slider, why not butt? Even though I know it's not going to happen here due to ps3 limitation (which is what they actually said lol).

I'm actually for additional customization. One of the threads that came before this one did suggest having alternative body types instead of just a linear slider (kinda like the highlander/midlander difference, but in that thread they wanted something more like an Alphinaud/Alisae build for elezen). But anyways, just commenting on some of the technical issues that might be there.

Honestly, I feel a lot of people are expecting too much from a MMO that was basically rushed, using existing assets and toned down and cut corners to be release in a timely fashion. I've come to the conclusion that if it doesn't take 1 2 3 to implement, it's not happening.
