those things do not stack. although adding BotD to DRG and positionals to NIN does make those jobs all more similar to each other as well which is also not good.
So you're basically saying Huton and BotD doesn't matter.
ok.
Anyways:
Please stop comparing Machinist and Black Mages to Bards.
Machinist was created with GB in mind, and is more "easier" to use (assuming you know what to do with your Ammo/oGCDs).
Black Mages is far more complex as you have to manage ENOCHAIN and utilizing Ley Lines to its maximum.
Bards have a 1.5s cast. 1.46s assuming you're i180.
Black Mages have around 2-4 second cast (assuming you still use Flare...I believe Fire/Blizzard IV is 3s?)
So please. staph. .-.

i didn't say they don't matter. keeping one buff timer up is not the same as keeping GL stacks and rebuilding the stacks back up to 3 if they fall off.
the MNK mechanic is specifically building up stacks not just keeping the timer up.

Just think of it as taking aim for the enemies weak spot and hitting your mark at all times. The only other two alternatives I can think of that allows you to have a 30% boost without cast bars is...
- Wanderer's Minuet requires MP to remain active and takes more MP than Foe's Requium.
- Wanderer's Minuet doesn't require MP, still gives you 30% damage buff, let's you use Empyrean Arrow, Iron Jaws and allows you to run around... but drops your accuracy massively.
I played bard main i beat everyone on dps in alex farming on multiple occasions. beat a1s and was 3rd in dps on my group and i think im pretty good.
but i quit bard. its no fun anymore. now im a healer.
