So make it that you can only NEED on stuff that's above the highest iLvl in your possession that you can use.
If you are going for glamour, you should have the same chance on getting it as everyone else = GREED.

I sure know I would run even less content with pugs if this would be in the game. Why would I even queue as healer, if I can't even roll need on healer items. And what about my second point? WoD came out quite a bit after Poetics/FCoB, it's not impossible to have either i130 chest. But the WoD chest still is better thanks to secondary stats. Am I now out of luck even though it is a clear upgrade for me?

Why would you need items that are not an upgrade? For glamour? Glamour is just as "big" of a reason as gearing alts, or glamouring alts, or anything else = GREED.

As for the iLvl being weird sometimes, yes it is and should be fixed, but that's another issue.

This would be a question of ethics then. If healer A needs the body to actually improve his character then yes... i believe he should have first dibs. If your both above in ilvl then it's glamour piece. It would be better if it was three tiered IMO

Wah? If it is an upgrade for me why should I not need? Ilvl is not everything. If that is where you guys are coming from cannot support this at all, secondary stat mix ups on highest ilvl makes some of the better gear choices in this game. Are you guys to lazy to look at stats?

Edit: yes 10 or 20 ilvl could work with the current system to help need abuse in leveling dungeons (most people still just pass unless they want glam) since gear does not sell for much and very few people dysynth much.

10-% it's F'd up and it needs fixing, like for example the current i150 white items being WAY worse than the i148 green items. Makes absolutely no sense. Also used Materia should be reflected in iLvl.
~0.1% you just want a different secondary stat on an item that's basically the same strength - deal with greed.

As I said before, the BRD WoD chest is an upgrade over Dreadwyrm and Augmented Ironworks. It is lower ilvl, but it being crit/det and not being SS/det or SS/acc made it better. (This is all before SS got changed, I don't know how good SS scales for it). WoD healer chest would be the go to if you prefer SS/PIE on your WHM, the tank chest also was pretty good for DPS when you didn't need the accuracy. Sometimes you need lower level gear to meet accuracy caps. Upgrades aren't always higher ilvl = better.

And even if we ignore this. What reason would I have to queue for anything with DF? I sure as hell won't take a risk of getting a bad party, just to get a drop I still have to be lucky to get.

more like 5% or more is side upgrade with secondary stats. White items have almost always been worse then green items within 5 ilvl. ilvl is a tool to gauge where you are (not the end all be all). If the gear is an upgrade for me I should and will need even if it is the same ilvl or god forbid lower. I am not fighting over 3 dps who greed just cus to get something I need to improve my performance. Your a SCH people are already talking about keeping the hive wep. over the new ilvl 200 eso weapon because of the loss in crit. Need abuse is not in any way rampant right now, so why is this a problem right now? (it would be one thing if you did not spew stupid at me, might agree with some points, but it is your duty to greed if it does not improve your ilvl lol... no)

If you are looking for an item as iLevel upgrade, you actually NEED it. Thus you roll NEED on it.
If you want it for anything else, you don't NEED it, you WANT it. Thus you should GREED on it to make it fair.

Your glamour, or desynth, or collection reasons are just as "valuable" as gearing alts or expert delivery. Not to mention glamour for alts.

and I mentioned in my OP but ill say it again, I am NOT against the current system, I simply explore with you guys other systems and why would they work and why wont they.
the only issue i have with the current system is that just because you match the item's class/job. you can need on it regardless if it will actually upgrade your stats or not. it is not cool for a level 60 PLD running "Leveling Roulette" to be able to NEED on PLD level 20 gear instantly denying anyone else the roll in the group since there is only one tank just because it looks good in glamour or because you want to convert it to GC seals.

OK then, how about put a 10 ilvl buffer on it. Sidegrades are almost 100% of the time within that buffer.
