WAR was the original self heal tank. It was only toned back in exchange for more mitigation because it made them lepers to the Coil community.

Holy shit people are really flipping it now, post after post.
These threads/posts complaining about warriors are out of hand.
Well like was said, can we blame the community. So everyone complained about WAR, so they changed it up. Then HW comes out and also the slew of tanking DPS, so now PLD gets all the hate. Countless threads on PLD DPS. So now what, they do something about the DPS, which, then will come the complaints that PLD is OP. Does it ever stop? Will there always be something to complain about? Maybe if we get a tanking, dpsing, healer, with everything on insta cast, no cool down, pulling 3000 dps while wearing all VIT gear we'll be happy, but no there will be that guy.
Self heals always have been on WAR. Inner Beast, Bloodbath, cross class second wind, their synergy with Berserk, and even ToB. Self heal has ALWAYS been WAR's thing.
Clemency has nothing to do with that kind of power. It's a healing spell which you can choose to cast on either yourself or a party member. You can heal a party member with it. And you can do it easily 3 times in a row if needed if you use Sheltron or a Goring Blade combo.
Yes, WAR is getting a lot of love. Yes, it's currently one of the most powerful jobs in the game (if not THE most powerful). But it's not THAT far above the others. People really are exaggerating this. We still take PLDs and DRKs for raids ya know.
Healing through damage is completely different than healing yourself by just a pure heal. While Clemency is nice, it isn't that helpful at the moment. The 3 second cast time screws with it a lot. In those 3 seconds the healer will have a heal going out to that person most of the time. If they get healed before Clemency hits them, we don't get jack for HP returned to us. If PLD could insta cast it, it would be a whole lot better and really be a saving skill.
And if PLD could do 2 instant cast heals on any party member in a row, that would be incredibly broken. Skills on each tank are meant to have their own advantages and disadvantages, like the jobs themselves. Deal with it and stop sounding bitter that PLD isn't the best MT option for every fight now.Healing through damage is completely different than healing yourself by just a pure heal. WAR has always been about big hp pools and self heals for survival.
Edit; Oh man missed a whole page while ordering pizza
Of course they would have to put a CD on it if it was instant. I'm not trying to break the game. I'm just asking that the tanks have their own skills that make them special instead of having similar skills between them all, but right now there's no downside to a WAR and adding a DPS stance and a self heal was completely unneeded.
I don't care if PLD isn't the best MT option. It's the weakest tank by a lot. It it couldn't take a lot of punishment, it would lose it's only saving grace. Also, the PLD is best suited to MT since it's OT abilities are completely garbage. We have a DPS stance and a new 340 potency hit that makes very little difference since our overall DPS is low. Might cast a SS once or twice, but that's it.
You do realize that depending on the fight a DRK can do comparable, sometimes more, damage than a WAR while also taking less damage while DPSing.
Or that PLD sustain isn't to far behind either.
