Especially if you are a SCH, because it allow the fairy to solo heal the whole time.

The best is "Protect, swiftcast, stoneskin, cleric stance, aero"

Yeah. Dpsing is always right way to go as "healer".

    Healer's priority duty is "dpsing".
    It's a unbeatable logic.

    Can't deal with it. Lol

Don't be silly by strawmanning a reasonable point. It's valid to suggest that healer DPS is a far greater contribution to group success in low-level dungeons than Protect's unnoticeable benefit at those levels.

Naturally providing both gives you the whole package, but it's clear which makes the bigger difference.

SE should give protect with trait improvement to tanks.

Cause healers have to dpsing during dungeon. Not a matter to care your partyis going well or not.

Actually, I don't care how healer rolls in dungeon.

I only care about is "don't let tank die and keep eyes on your party for" :3

This argument is silly, and honestly it seems the only real reason you're against Protect is because you're being told to use it.

You think dealing damage is more effective than healing? Then sack off the healer, bring a third DPS into the dungeon. See where that gets you. The only thing you're accomplishing by DPSing is knocking off a few seconds off a target's kill time at the absolute best - the kind of targets that pose absolutely no threat to the party anyway. With any monster that poses at least some form of threat, your damage would be laughably minimal, and you'd likely be focused on healing anyway - and in such cases added defence >>>> healer DPS. I assure you, no one is going to be the worse for wear because you didn't fling a Blizzard or a Stone at a mob.

Plus, your job as a healer is two-fold. There's the actual healing part, and then there's the mental side of things. Being a healer is about more than just flinging out a cure spell now and then, it's about giving your party members peace of mind that they're in good enough hands that they can focus on their own role without needing to worry about their health. Party members who have confidence in their healer perform a lot better, simply because they can go all out and do their job properly and know that someone has their back. And naturally, an effective tank/ DPS is far more useful (and thus quicker) in damage output than a DPSing healer. Healers who spend too much time DPSing, let health drop too low, or don't even appear bothered about casting basic buffs (no matter your reasoning) seem unfocused, lazy, unreliable and even amateurish, and I suspect that's why the tank left.

Actually healer DPS is nothing to laugh at. At high levels, pretty much any raid group worth a damn will expect their healers to be doing DPS, and at lower levels with Cleric Stance you actually end up being the top DPS in the group pretty often.

Perhaps they seem that way to people who don't know any better, sure.

What's really amateurish is a healer who acts like a chocobo that's been put on Healer Stance, telling themselves, "I'm a healer, so I just heal!" and spending half of every instance run doing nothing. :|

It's a universal attitude. "Oh, it's okay, I know what I'm doing" is often a warning flag itself, since so many bad healers (or in fact bad anything) say something similar. Don't expect to be given the benefit of the doubt that you're the exception to the rule.

I'd rather be with a lazy healer than one who doesn't seem to be aware what their job is.

Brayflox is the first dungeon where I would actually care about protect.

It's a graveyard for tanks, especially new ones. The difficulty spike to a new player is very real. Making it harder on them is unkind.
