Healers who spend too much time DPSing, let health drop too low, or don't even appear bothered about casting basic buffs (no matter your reasoning) seem unfocused, lazy, unreliable and even amateurish, and I suspect that's why the tank left.

Perhaps they seem that way to people who don't know any better, sure.

What's really amateurish is a healer who acts like a chocobo that's been put on Healer Stance, telling themselves, "I'm a healer, so I just heal!" and spending half of every instance run doing nothing. :|
