DX11 was not intended to improve performance. Yes, you will see a frame rate decrease on hardware that was high end 3-5 years ago.

I'm having the same crashing behavior on Win 10 with the latest nvidia driver on a GeForce GTX 660M card. The Media Feature Pack will not resolve this issue. That is for Win 10 installs that are missing features due to how you licensed your purchase.

Gladly - it's often an issue with older games or emulator projects:

I know if i cap my frame rate to 30 on directx 9 and on fullscreen, i get a fatal directx fault. Other than that you may be looking at installing win7/8 until this game is certified compatible.

While I'm sure there are some people with issues under Windows10 (probably the same percentile that has issues under other systems) the game does in fact work just fine in Windows10 under normal conditions. Issues some people are experiencing are highly likely a result of driver issues or misconfigured software.

As always with a new Windows version if you want it to work at its best, you should do a clean install to ensure there isn't any old software around causing incompatibilities, the only thing required on a clean install, are some additional DirectX files that does not ship with Windows10 by default. You do NOT need to reinstall the entire game, but you can run the installer to make it update those DirectX files its missing, after which the game starts and runs the same as normal under both DirectX 9 & 11.

You should also take into account that upgrading to Windows 10 would run a risk of this happening. Myself and many others did not have any issues. Sounds to me like you should have waited for SE to say they support Windows 10. Sorry for your lose.

EDIT: There is a big post that others have been talking on about Windows 10 and FFXIV. If you do not know about it here is the link: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...id-you-upgrade (Good Luck!)

If you two had read a bit you would see that the problems have been solved. The issue was because nvidia drivers were not working correctly but I did a clean install of them and of FF 14 and all is fixed.

Source? D: I personally had some issues and had to revert to Win 8.1 ... though I would love to go back to 10 asap.

I can confirm this. I upgraded to Win10 and installed Nvidia's Win10 ready drivers, and found that FFXIV would not run at all. I performed a clean install of Win10 and installed only the Nvidia drivers available via Windows Update (which are not the so called Windows 10 ready drivers). FFXIV runs just fine now. I'm pretty hesitant to install the Nvidia version 535.62 driver. I'm running version 535.54 for now.

Basically what you need to do is uninstall your nvidia drivers and then go on the nvidia site and do a clean install of the drivers and also uninstall FF 14 and do a clean install of that as well and all should be well after that. Nvidia didn't set up the drivers to update correctly when Windows 10 released so they seemed to only partially update causing which cause the problem as far as I can, could be wrong about that but anyway do a clean install of the two and you should be good.
