Someone said it's because they want to be careful since what happened in 1.0.
This is good and all, but we can tell this game has made an amazing recovery.
It's time to step it up. I still have hope.

While i have found something new in fanart and drk, i do agree with the op's points on other systems.
I remember people were waiting until the expansion's release to see if the game(or their once preferred enjoyment outside of the duty finder) would be revitalized. I myself was hoping for recipies and outfits that were not as restrictive as the (material)(outfit)of (overused verb). Im still waiting for the chocobo issues to be fixed.
Only to find not as much changed at all. Raiding is still favored, crafting has even more limits with no payoff(they even copypasted gear!) ,and now people are even more fearful of introducing something outside of se's predictable cycle of content.

Having lurked and trolled the WoW forums for years of my life. More complaint threads isn't really indicative of much.
Sometimes they respond to them, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the person has a quantitative argument, and other times it's entirely subjective or even factually incorrect. This seems to have no bearing on how many people agree with the argument at all.
The larger the number of people that play this game, and the longer that those individuals play this game, has a much larger impact on how many people complain on the forums than when anything is actually wrong with the game. Simply put, there's a larger sample size and people who've played longer tend to complain more.
You kinda shoot your argument, right or wrong, in the foot right from the start with the bolded portion.Having lurked and trolled the WoW forums for years of my life. More complaint threads isn't really indicative of much.

I'm a returning player having left shortly after capping out when ARR came to pass.
I got Whm to 50, all 8 crafts and was close to all the gathering. Was where you are and left. It doesn't really matter what I ended up playing and I did sub back up twice since then, once for a month, once for 3 months to see what had changed. Then left again, letting the sub fade away. So really I was gone for over a year.
Seems to be more to catch up on this time returning. Hard to say how long I will be here this time. I'm not worried about it. Finding your motivation? It might be in another game.

not to be mean, but the whole point of games in general is to waste time in the form of entertainment. what someone finds entertaining is subjective. as for MMOs that made huge changed on expanison; they either went back on those changes, or those same changes caused huge balance issues. regardless, there is no pleasing everyone.

Same people posting the same old threads and replies.

A lot of the crafting's restrictions and housing problems haven't been fixed for quite some time.not to be mean, but the whole point of games in general is to waste time in the form of entertainment. what someone finds entertaining is subjective. as for MMOs that made huge changed on expanison; they either went back on those changes, or those same changes caused huge balance issues. regardless, there is no pleasing everyone.
Now getting to the top is harder, crafts look for more in recepies, the scripts are what they are...but the results are just as much a letdown.
This is just plain not pleasing.
Maybe getting to the top is being dragged out, so the difficulty can be eased by time and not by nerfs.

He's using a different definition of the word "trolled" than I think you think he is.
To "troll the forums" can mean to just browse them, fishing around for topics that interest you. This definition doesn't (necessarily) mean that he was posting inflammatory dialog to try to get people to react.
Though you CAN do both. You can troll the forums - looking for people to troll. XD
