I... think he's talking about RMT? About people who buy gil in order to purchase expensive things they want, rather than to do the sensible thing and just not buy it until it's cheaper?
It's not a bad thought; gilbuyers are the biggest destablizing influence on FFXIV's markets. There are two ways to make a lot of money in this game: find a market and exploit it (crafting, gathering, sale of primal/raid runs, etc), or bust out the ol' credit card and buy a busload o' gil. Both these groups have the means to pay large amounts for desireable items, gradually bumping the price up. The latter group, though, is a lot less likely to have any sort of money sense. If they're that careless with real money, how likely are they to be careful with their fake money?
Folks who earn a large amount of wealth through in-game means didn't do so by throwing gobs of gil at every frivolous thing that catches their eye. RMT in the game means that careless spenders will become a much larger part of the market than they otherwise should be, which will skew prices unnaturally high.
It's probably the only plausible argument against the fairness of supply and demand, as such individuals provide an illusion of demand that isn't actually there. That's one of the reasons that it is fortunate that crafted products are, in general, limited to frivolous things - there's no MUST HAVE weapon or armor anywhere on the marketboards.

I just buy the undercutters' stuff and sell it for exorbitant prices.
moot point

I undercut by some seriously large amounts sometimes. I do it because I don't like profiteering. For example if there is a lack of hq items and someone has jacked the price up relative to the sales history then I'll put mine up in line with the usual hq price. Only the other day someone jacked up hq holy cedar lumber hq to 100k on sargatanas. I could have undercut him by a few gil and sold mine for a big payoff. Instead I put mine up at 25k. I made a decent profit and the buyer didn't get shanked.
I actually greatly appreciate undercutting wars. They make things far more affordable for people like me. Often times the prices are so freaking high I can't afford items that should be relatively cheap. For example, I needed a pair of lvl 23 chainmail gauntlets to finish off my set. I looked on the market board and found them to be priced at around 19,000! That's absurd. I later found the same gauntlets being sold by a NPC vendor for something like 1,200. Guess which one I bought. As a consumer, I say Twelve bless the undercutters.

I mean I undercut almost everything because I have 2 full retainers, and 3 free inventory spaces... And 40/40 selling in MB at same time... What else am I supposed to do. I need to get rid of it and I'm in no need of Gil, people act like undercutting has no logical reason. Also with crafting items being marked up 100-500%, I'm not always in a mood to dick someone over what took me 5 mins to make
What you're asking is for everyone to agree to keep prices needlessly inflated so you don't lose money. That's terrible
