yea 3 completely new jobs is nothing new...
Flying mounts are also nothing new which means they can do some crazy stuff with the zones.

Flying is just another way of transport, no flying content, nothing special about it. No mobs in sky, no fly races.. nothing.
Mechanist is just reskinned BRD.
Astrologian and DRK look nice, I admit that, but this is not a MOBA game, I don't fancy runing obsolete content 30 times a week only because I run it with 20 different jobs.

I would rather see them come with new mechanics and improve the old ones.
Why cannot we have better PVP leaderboards, materias and morale in frontlines?
Dungeons with more paths, open world dungeons, stuff like Hamlet from 1.0?

All I see in Heavensward is weekly roulettes, weekly alex, weekly hunt.
The only thing that is somehow updated is crafting and gathering and from what I see on forums most people hate it..

WoW has been going for like 11 years now with very little innovation. I don't see the concern. The amount of content in heavensward is ridiculous, it's like twice that of the most recent WoW expansion (Which only lasted 9 months, pathetically enough). And it's only gonna get better from here.

I don't get some of you, it's like you're expecting an expansion to turn this into an entirely new game. Of course it's gonna be more of the same, just with new content to go through.

Garisson is the absolute blight on the current expansion, universally agreed. I take a game that does more of the same over that kind of new.
Wow has introduced very little mechanics each expansion actually. The only things i can think off new in tbc since new dungeons/raids/zones/levels are not allowed is the socketing system, the arena system and dailies. Those are all in this game already.

Almost 12 years. My friend played it recently and they introduced lots of ways to play alone, because not many people play it anymore.
Also Yoshida recently said that they are not planing any subscription change, but that they are willing to change model if their playerbase wants it (FFXIV).

FFXI is still ongoing, FFXIV was just saved from that crappy launch it had a few years ago, so this is to soon to worry about if at all.

thank you all for the replies and judging by the poll most everyone feels like I do that 14 has a possible 10+ years left, personally I'd like to see it live longer than 12 more years, but that's just me.

I would agree with this, had it not been Final Fantasy.
The name alone will carry it a lot further then your typical themepark mmo.

Tell that to SWTOR, the Star Wars franchise didn't save it from a massive decline in the player base prior to going free to play. Same with Elder scrolls Online, DC universe. IP is just the hook.

Just because it's the hype to bash something doesn't mean it is a bad thing.

They changed core game mechanics with most of their expansions, and changed classes in every single expansion.


Honestly, please stop comparing FFXIV to WoW. I do not want to play WoW.
I want to play this game.

But the fact remains that a number of things we have (or don't have here) are simply done much better in WoW...expansions included. So bringing up WoW won't make the argument go in your favor, rather the opposite.
