I think we should be given more benefits for getting married, like being able to give each other all unique untradable gear/items to each other including spirit bonded gear/items, dungeon gear, tomestone gear, upgrade items etc. Also being able to give each other tomestones but up to a certain limit weekly.

To prevent people from abusing this you can have it so that when they try to divorce, they have to return all the tomes/items/gear to each other before finalizing the divorce if they haven't been discarded or converted.

I believe doing this will give people more incentive to take part in. This could be a Platinum Reward as this will not allow people to abuse it if it were free

Yes to this. My boyfriend is busy working, and all I want is to farm Brayflox to get his DRK gear for him!

Please, exclude trading between bondsmates. In fact, destroy any untradeable items that may have passed between you if you want to annul. Or, make annulling expensive or time consuming to discourage abuse. Make it where you can't annul until a month has passed. Make it where you also can't bond again until a month has passed from your annulment.

I meant to say make unique items be only able to pass between you and your bondsmate. Keep unique status after the trade so that it can't be sold by a retainer or traded randomly in exchange for gil.

Making bond trades can be a special skill even. Much like materia melding or aetherial reduction. And useable between bondsmates only.

Something I've noticed is that a lot of the Eternal Bondings in the game seem to end rather quickly. So how about anniversary rewards for those who actually keep theirs going?

^ This. I agree that people would most likely stay together in an EB relationship if they were to get special rewards. Most of the time people do the EB for the sake of the items like the chocobo. I understand some marriages don't last because sometimes real life gets in the way (like what happened with my former partner). But I do think Ginal's idea is a smart one, so please SE can we have?
