The reason you can do it unsynced is because there are people that want to experience the story and content of Coil, but never could before because they didn't have a static or progression FC. Or they weren't "serious gamers".
That reason may hold up for normal coil (although I still think it should be done properly), but it has absolutely no bearing on savage, since normal mode exists.
