What do people do with gil?

I am curious; what does one do with millions of gil?

I've only been playing for a couple months, and I just broke the million gil mark a couple weeks ago. I get all my gear through quests/dungeons. I don't craft or gather.
So... what do people do with all their gil? Are there, like, luxury sedans to save up for? College tuition? Can you set up a trust fund for your alts?

Honestly, I don't know. My gil vanishes constantly, and I have no idea what I even do with it.

Nothing, honestly. You use it for teleports, gear repairs, food and potions.... otherwise nothing. You could say that getting a FC house is something to go for but really it only provides SOMETHING to spend your money on. Most of the houses I see, no one is ever in them. They're AFK by the Marketboard and Retainer Bell.

gil is used to buy things from crafters so you can craft things to sell to other crafters

I rarely spend my gil. If I do spend, it's either food or glamour stuff.

Right now, Red Crafter Scrips is quiet costly - materials - crystals to meet the 450 weekly cap...
Other than that, not much gil sink in the game
