Robes being thick makes sense considering we're adventurers, traveling the realm in various climates and fighting monsters, demons, bandits, and military forces.
I do agree that the Cashmere Robe of Healing is a good example of what good looking robe can look like.

I was a bit disappointed when I was told that the Esoteric set was what the guy who shows up for all of fifteen seconds at the end of the BLM 60 storyline was wearing
Don't get me wrong, I think the set is pretty good, except for the hat that would put most Touhou characters to shame

I think it's okay to have the AF2 iconic gears to be.. Iconic. But casters and healers really need some more variations. Put more different glamours: something armourish, something a bit sexier, something simple but smart.. I'm sick of my own face glamour on my WHM but I don't like most of the gears.

Oh yes, I definitely understand the practical needs of a thick robe. I just like more selection, but more selection that is also also sensible.
I'd be cool with robes, if they'd add some flair to it. Maybe a few more "armored" designs?
For example THIS:
The Final Coil gear was a step in the right direction minus the ridiculous hat! >_<
More looks like this please:
Would be awesome to see a dyeable version of this.

It's a shame that most of the robes we see now share the one archetype: a long gown and the only difference is pretty much what they decide to color/add whatever things on it
Melee DPS has alot more variety; even Tank armor have more variety in terms of gear design

I would want something more like.

I'd like more coats, less robes. Or at least less robes that are very apparent in that they were designed with the female form in mind.
