Looks like the game will be at where it should have been at lunch come patch 1.21. Makes me really happy but it sucks that i have to wait 3 months to see that patch live.

Anyone else agree?

Yeah but where did they say 1.21 will come out in 3 months? 1.19 is late september, 1.20 should be 3 months after... 1.21 3 months after 1.20 so that makes it 6 months? Unless they churn those patches faster i don't see 1.21 as being ready for release anytime soon.

If 1.19 Comes out Late September (which seems likely) that's 2 months from 1.18 which would put 1.20 in November and 1.21 in January ( my Birthday month ^.^) So I believe it will be done in 4 months =)

I hope they can continue with the two month between patch timeframe. But seeing how they are working overtime and during the weekends, I wonder how long they can keep up with that schedule (unless 1.19 is the exception and they need to have it out before the one year mark so the seasonal event is ready too at the same time).

The difference between 1.18 and 1.19 is about 2 months. They've already said they expect patch releases to speed up now, so I'd expect 3 months from the release of 1.19 to not be that unreasonable.

I'm expecting 1.21 out before Christmas or that comment they made about "patch frequency will speed up after 1.18/1.19" was just a PR crock of crap.

Yeah it just hit me, if we already got an outline for what is scheduled in 1.20 and 1.21 in this letter it must mean that the patch 1.20 will be released not too long after 1.19, then soon to be followed with 1.21.

Not trying to get anyone's hopes up but seems about right.

If we show our continued support it just might become reality lol

Though there are other incentives for SE as well. After 1.21 maybe start charging? If they make it before Christmas and quickly re-market FFXIV, they can get a heck of a lot of subs from Christmas gifts and finally start turning this game into a profitable project.

this will probably do way more harm then good, they will end up all leaving by the time there free month is up. specially if by chance it's a gift from others. pc lost all there subs or on hiatis till then, it won't change at 1.21

Well I think they could start charging with 1.21 if they want, with the job system/quests, all the instances added, quests/missions (company and story and job related), primal fights, escorts, combat system done with, crafting system done with among other changes, I think that is enough content to start charging to fund more content development.
