    Second wind being a decent class heal lol. Really thou we have enough abilities why do people want more situational abilities? Unless you give dps cleric stance their is no way to heal as casters. Saying when a healer dcs you need to be able to side heal is not that relevant. Does the SMN pet heal work or not? If not complain about that (even then it is easy to keep the pet out of aoes it is a large part of the class).

    That is pretty much the truth. Use sustain, liberally, for your pet when needed. It is 80% healed HP over 10 seconds. Basically someone needs to git gud if they say that is not enough. Plus stop taking damage to even think about physick. Use sustain liberally instead of near death, and/or the healers need to be on-top of party damage.

    When shit hits the fan, your healer sometimes has to focus on healing the tank first ASAP NOW!! and heal his/herself so that the healer not end up dead. When your BLM and SMN can throw a couple physick at 1k, critical 1.8k-2k, that is a HUGE emergency save that makes a BIG difference from healer not dead, or the DPS not dead - adding more stress to the healer that can easily be avoided.

    No healer worth their salt should need heals from a dps to sustain health.

    Yeah just the other day in a High Level Roulette dungeon from ARR, healer ate an AOE, I revived them as SMN and kept the tank up long enough for the healer to take back over. We pulled it off and I got three comms for it. Would it be better to say 'No, because the healer screwed up and died we all should have paid the penalty for that and wiped and had to start over?'. Maybe for those who like 100% scripted, by the book, only one way to do it- everything.

    Plus my DOT's were at work on the main target and so was my pet so this came at the cost of just a few Ruin casts, it wasn't like taking a DPS out of the equation.

    It is fine to use in niche spots, but in no way is a must need spell in SMN rotation. Anyways if you buffed physiciks sch would be more op then it is now.

    But why would you not want to have those situational abilities? And people aren't talking just about summoner. However situational something may be, it is considered situational because there is a place it may come in handy. Just because there is a rotation of skills they do not have a place in, does not mean we shouldn't have them.

    Physick has helped plenty in oh shi- moments as summoner. Particularly soloing, but also in group content (I agree that a good healer shouldn't need a DPS to support heal, but things can happen; lag, a dc, etc). As is Raise. I had a lot of fun using Haymaker while leveling rogue, as well, along with other things you may not use almost ever. I haven't gotten to play PvP here, but I can totally see how physick would have its uses on a caster.

    Edit: I don't think anybody said it would be a must need spell in a rotation, they just want its one-in-one-hundred use to still be there.

    Yupe. I pretty much removed it from my hotbar. I replaced it with X-potion it heals a tiny bit more and is instant. Overall, we can't really heal worth crap @ Lv 60.

    Since skill bloat is a major problem. Enough said, most classes do not even have 5 viable cross class skills and overall I see that not as a problem it seems like the game has moved away from them in general. DRG for PVE is already spilling over into a fourth bar for just a normal rotation. I mentioned that the reason these skills seem more useless is the difference of mnd to int at 60 with level and gear. Once again if you can use it in a niche situation (barley any of your play time are you healing as SMN) which i find fine. The only big use to the skills seems to be at low level (Arcanist can heal jsut as well as a cjr) but at that point people are still learning their jobs at 50+ their should not be that much learning left. The OG was complaining about healing his/her pet which their is a skill made for that already. And the SCALEING is great with MIND.
