I liked it. I can actually hear/understand what they say ....compared to the mumblings of all the Garleans I kill in CM and Prae

It's not charming, it's cringe-worthy. As if they suddenly forgot that fights may last longer than twenty seconds.

Less sarcastically, adding in two separate sliders for cut scene and player character voices vs non-player character voices (including other player characters), would be a good thing.

    Oh. And this:
It's not really a cutscene thing either. Frankly, bosses need to just say it once and be done.

Again, not a request to have them be fully silent, just not repeat themselves constantly.

I dunno...I really liked having more voice-overs during battles.
Especially if that brings more "memetic" stuff like this gem:

Which was uttered how many times in the fight? Once or twice? That's okay.

    A bit more serious now.
WoW got this as well but it was actually really handy since most of those boss yells were actually right before certain abilities were cast.
I have not gotten to HW but maybe anyone can enlighten if it is the same here?

I disagree with you OP. Having the bosses talk in combat is no different than background music and attack noises after you've done a run or two. Plus, I'll not lie that Ravana's voice acting during the fight is part of what made me love that boss as much as I hate him. It gives it more of an anime-esq feel in that the bosses know that they're powerful beings that should be wiping the floor with you, (and often do when they have a voice line, at least in first attempts), so they let loose their battle cries to taunt you with the fact that they're about to make you beg for mercy, (or in the case of half the fanbase, beg for better party members because the ones they have "suck"). It gives the fights more of a "grand battle" feel rather than a "this is just another fight" feel. From a tactical standpoint, it also gives a good indicator of how you should be preparing to react to phase changes.....

From what I can tell, yes, these yells are tied to attack queues but the attacks are so insignificant (and we didn't need them before) that they become annoying rather than helpful.

To that, I'll disagree because it isn't a 1.5 second soundbite played at a level that puts the boss in your head (distance/loudness wise) rather than someone on the field.

For a better comparison, I'd argue that some of these bosses, aren't and the problem is frequency. Sure I wouldn't mind if say... Titan had something he uttered (in your head with obnoxious loudness compared to the rest of the game) when he did his transitions in phases, but to have things like "Sickness must be purged" every fifteen seconds is excessive. Sorry, it was better in 2.x. Much better.

I fully disagree because I'm paying attention to the fight and the UI. I don't need to hear "Sickness must be purged" or otherwise every ten seconds to tell me that an attack that just does minimal group-wide damage is incoming. Visual queues are good enough.
