It's the Lunar Whale from FF4!

It was an idea being tossed around back near launch, but recent comments from Yoshida make it seem like that's not the case. He said it'll be part of the upcoming 24-man, which is unique to XIV.

He never said that at all. All he said about it was that we'd find out more in 3.1. In regards to the 24-man raid, yes it was supposed to be unique to 14, but we don't know whether that's still the case. He did say that he'd given hints earlier in the live letter, but there are a few things that could refer to, not just the UFO.

Sometimes on especially cloudy nights in Sea of Clouds, I can see bright glowing dots underneath the islands. Just now I noticed the same glowing color and pattern occurs in Churning Mists, at night and during Gales weather. Could this be the UFO moving closer?

This was mentioned earlier, but it may be that the ship idles there when it isn't moving, as that glow isn't present when it's on the move.

We will see life living allagans on the future. Thats a fact, we are not over with them. The fact that hey havent showed for 5 milliea is beacose they are probably be hiding someone below a rock, with all the shame of they all have done xD

EDIT: But about that ship, it's pretty similar to the Lunar Whale. We've had a lot of focus on dragoons, we have dark knight now, we've seen Elidibus on the moon. It could be Square throwing us off, but it would be cool if that's the Lunar Whale. Though with lots of voidy stuff and the fact a previous poster looks like Exdeath, maybe not.

Or Elidibus is sending Warriors of Darkness and their ships run on suspense.
