So you just want the outfits because you want to go 0_0 and drool all over it hmmm? and here i was thinking this thread was about males and females getting the same amount of outfits not about eye candy :P the only reason i bring this up is because when anyone starts a thread asking for short skirts or more girly outfits most ppl bash them and say Nooo we don't need any more sexy gear or noooo skin yet i guess more skin on guys is ok :P

Actually what he said makes perfect sense. I can go with equality, but at least let's not be hypocritical. This is all there is to it, really.

I would personally burn a character like that with fire, but that is just me - like many female players who can't stand skimpy clothes on females.

Everyone has their tastes. Just don't hide behind the noble standard of equality when it is just eyecandy. At least I (and others) are honest enough to admit that yes, it is all about the fanservice and dem miqo'te and au'ra gazongas.

It's both. The majority of the discrepancies between what females get and what males get is in the realm of eye candy gear. When it comes to more serious functional looking gear, that's already available to both genders so there's little to argue about in that regard, but there's far more sexy eye-candy gear available for females than males.

We want equality, to be able to wear all the sorts of gear that female characters can, and since sexy gear is what's lacking in that respect, that's the gear we're asking for. If we had the same amount of sexy eye-candy gear, but females had more functional looking full plate armour than males, then we'd be asking for more functional armour. Sexy eye candy becomes the topic of any equality in gear thread because that's where the equality is lacking.

FYI i'm a she as well but i really can care less about how much any of my toons have on. Female characters constantly get new exclusive gear to flaunt their stuff in, while male characters are still limited to the same stuff that's been around since desynthesis was first patched in. The Thavnairian set in particular looked like it was going to be split into male and female versions, but the male version was revealed to be unisex, meaning female characters still have nearly twice as many options as male characters.

That's the issue being discussed. Everything else is just a tangent.

Well, I didn't call you a troll, but I thought your post did miss the point a bit. It sounded like you thought asking for sexy eye-candy outfits was a distinct issue from asking for equality in our choice of outfits. They're one and the same, since that's the area where that equality is currently lacking. SE should be offering just as much choice (including as much fan-service) to both genders.

I, for one, do like sexy male outfits, but the part that bothers me is the fact that being a woman playing a male character gives me fewer such options than I'd have if I were a man playing a female character. I'd likely be satisfied with what we have if it were the same as what other players were given, but being given less than other players get feels like I'm being given a second-rate version of the game.

It's particularly frustrating since it's such a departure from their initial stance. SE and the FF franchise are generally pretty good at gender equality. And this game started off no different, with males and females both getting a wide range from skimpy outfits to fully clothed conservative outfits to full armour. But now, as more stuff gets added through various patches, they're departing from that pattern, and instead repeatedly adding fan service eye candy outfits to just one gender and not the other.
