    Crafting 3.x DoW/DoM Gear Really Jacked UP!

    So I go look at crafted gear wanting to replace / meld my head piece and body as I have too much accuracy and go to the market board. There was some new stuff i180 up there 0 in stock. Talk to my super duper can make almost everything crafter buddy and find out that the mats required are equal to about 250 million gil per PIECE.

    Apparently something about Scripts having a weekly cap and mats not being very easy to come by

    1. Why be so darn lazy with your gear designs? Really ? You cant come up with more variety instead of Recycling things over and over? Why make people work so hard to get crafted DoW/DoM gear and it looks like old dungeon gear or gear from old content?We have tokens, why cant each job have unique gear?

    2. Why did you guys make it more of a grind to get 1 piece of crafted armor than getting a job from 50-60? Makes no sense.

    Because SE really really hates that people cleared FCoB with crafting gear, so much that they want to invalidate crafting gear forever. They also hate the idea of omnicrafting, but don't understand how to fix that. Or at least, someone at SE doesn't, because 3.0 has made all sorts of hilarious boners with crafting and gathering, this being the capstone upon it.

    So, to combat omnicrafting, they implemented weekly red scrip limits so you can only gear up slowly and focus on your crafting classes you specialize in with any degree of speed. They also used the same scripgated materials for crafting DoW/DoM gear for some ill-conceived notion. So if you wanna gear your combat with crafted gear, you'll be doing it at the expense of your crafting gear!

    But, because SE hate hate hates the idea of crafted combat gear actually being viable for any content that's not at least a patch ago, your law gear that has no weekly caps is flat-out better than the crafted gear anyway.

    So just ignore it.

    Me? I'm so far from 60 in DoL/ DoH it makes no difference to me. By the time I'm able to gather red scripts they will be giving them out in Fates and Retainer quests. Or they might fall off the deep end and make treasure maps for crafters and gathers that don't convert to a murder fest.. naw.. they wouldn't do that.

    I actually like this. If for nothing else but to have fancy gear unrestricted by job for vanity.
    Mind you I'm against these restrictions in the first place and if it wasn't for that I'd fully agree with you.

    But yes, the current restrictions are just plain stupid.

    if they hate the omni crafting is maybe a bit too late for this, i means the game was create for allows one character to do all! people with a lot of time can do all, that a given.... but trying to limitate the impact of it is idiot, since in the end, for craft the uber gears, the specialization is not enough and you still need to get a tons of cross skill from other craft.

    soo far, they have make a mess with the craft, why? i dunno, i can't even understand what they try to do exept encourage RMT with them choice. the stuff is rare, then the price will go up.... do they really hope people to farm the Market? are they naive at this point?

    but it's not new, they have begin with the desynthesis and i'm kinda sure people did hate this as much as what we have now. it cost tons of cash for little boost. you know the best? omnicrafting work for people that have tons of time, the hardcore mostly, but the craft they have create are for....hardcore player mostly since a casual will never get him hand on this sort of stuff. why? because it ask soo much time, effort, gil that a csual or midcore can't get this.

    i feel they have no knowledge of what they try to do with the craft... they don't want people to buy them gears, but seriously, who care if they buy it with gils? all of this did begin with the 2.2, when they have decide that raid gears must be the only best gears! everything did start with this! we are not into a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) but into a MORG (Multiplayer Online Raiding game). instead to offer us different challenge and decent replayability they simply copy paste the error of wow and hope it will work.... exept a MMORPG need to evolve with time and offer new experience and soo far exept the story and the flying i haven't seen any new experience! the crafting is a mess since day 1 of HW (3 skin for 1 leather, when monster drop 1-3 skin every 3-4 monster.... ) and nothing was really done for change this.

    they think they can gate content like it was a raid for the craft and it's an error... craft mustn't be gated! craft must be free of any weekly caps... and more important get a true goal and active role into the world... we craft tons of equipement, component and reactif for nothing! we are totally disconnected of the world! the world need to living between story!

    ps: make stuff rare, will not make craft better, it will simply encourage greedy people and more important RMT! they can't control the economy since they have a market board.... even in the real world, no one is able to control the market.... do they really think they can do it there?

    That's not what the OP means, methinks, dude. It's not that the new gear for crafting is reskins of old 2.x gear(Dude I love having a kirimu coat on my monk), it's that the new 180 DoW/DoM crafted gear is an exact model duplicate of the 160 counterparts in the mastery III books(IE, the Griffin Leather Coat of Striking is the exact same model as the Chivalric Coat of Striking, I.E, red Kirimu Coat. Not even a different color.). All of the new red-script requisite 180 DoW/DoM recipes are like that.

    At least, that's what I feel is lazy.

    Cost of materials on the market board is really irrelevant as noone would actually go that path to get materials for red scrips crafts. And fact is right now the materials are insanely overpriced by other players.
    An omnicrafter can in addition also check which turn-in give the most scrips/effort.

    It really only takes time and effort to obtain everything required without spending any gil at all.

    I haven't spent one gil so far and managed to get up to 150 or so red scrips so far for crafter.

    That the time and effort requirement is quite harsh is another thing.
