Uhh... its been known for a long time that they weren't going to make crafted gear BIS. Its been stated by the devs, and brought up in every crafting thread about the gear for at least a couple of months. It seems they want crafted gear as filler only. I dont think thats a bad thing for the economy. One less reason for people to buy gil actually.

The Devs need to stop being so selfish and listen to the community. WE want decent craftable battle gear, however they don't. There's so many ways they can provide useful battle gear without making it a necessity or as a cheap way to beat brand new content. I can think of 3 ways that all fix the situation and I'm pretty damn tired.

Its a lot more simple than that. SE have removed any reason or incentive to craft much at all. Crafters will be leaving in large numbers, because all they have is painful grind for no reward.

    No crafters = tanked economy.

This thread is so hyperbolic and melodramatic that the thread is self destructive and potentially invalidates itself.

Destroyed economy? Nonsense. The economy is in better shape now than it has been for a very long time both for crafters and for gatherers. There will be variation per server but I know for a fact on mine the economy is in great shape.

No crafters left? or Crafting is dead? Both are pure fallacy. The game is still filled with crafters going about their business crafting even as we speak and it will continue to do so even if a few of you doomsayers stop.

Removed the incentive to craft? I still am incentivized to craft as are most people who enjoy crafting and make good money from it still. It still earns good money from most of the recipes even if not from every single one and not every recipe is guaranteed to make a large amount of income, it is also still fun for a lot of people too even if it is not for you. It also continues to have useful or worthwhile recipes even if not every recipe is useful to you.

WE want decent craftable battle gear? It might be true in that YOU want such. I seriously doubt "WE" equals a majority. Go ahead and try to prove me wrong. If by WE you mean a few vocal people on these forums then that does not mean very much. Not everyone agrees with you and who is to say your WE is larger in number than the oppositions WE whom do not agree with you. Not everyone went into crafting just to make battle gear.

Some of you lot need to stop with the ridiculous things you claim. At first some of the comments about how crafting is dead was humorous in how silly such a statement is but now I think some of you are falling prey to your own hyperbole and propaganda and need a reality check.

You expect SE to take you seriously when your own comments are borderline delusional in their melodramatic tone? There is a very good reason why no-one listens to the people on street corners waving their 'end is nigh' banners and some of you are coming across as voicing your issues in the same manner as those people because of the ridiculous things your saying. The other thread asking some of you to start thinking rationally and stop with the hyperbole was paved with good intentions, it is a shame some of you ignored that advice.

I made ~ 4 million just selling materials today, what they did kill is the Legendary Node materials, NQ is basically worthless, at most each player will need just 18 HQ of various Legendary materials.

And what ways would those be? Selling to other crafters and gathers? That only lasts until the bulk of crafters are geared up and have no one left to sell things to.

It really depends on your chosen crafts and the sort of crafting you expected to be doing to make your money. I don't think the economy's going to die--there's plenty of room for a market in supplying materials for people leveling crafting jobs, but if I had to guess, supplying materials isn't something that excites many crafters (and you certainly don't need i170/i80 crafting gear to make those).

Presumably, someone levels Armorer because they want to make armor either for themselves, their FC/friends, or to sell to others. Blacksmiths probably want to be making weapons for people to use, Alchemists potions, and so on. Several of the DoHs aren't really functioning according to what the majority of people expect now, as much of the gear and consumables they make have little purpose. What gear that does sell is almost exclusively leve turn-ins, a market that's likely to die down in time. CULs consumables are still valuable, and WVR/LTW/CRP can make gear for other DoHs/DoLs, but these are a far cry from the various markets that were available for people to work within previously.

All in all the system is less varied now than it was before and far more narrow in scope. In the long term, that probably won't be healthy for the economy, since the majority of what's making it move right now is other crafters and gatherers. That rush of people leveling them will calm down significantly over the next few months, and there won't be a lot of room for new crafters to find a niche within the resulting economy.
