well you cant compare it to ARR... in ARR these leve mobs are trash mobs. leve quest mobs in 1.0. could be dangerous. each monster in FFXIV 1.0. counted .. like in FFXI and other games of the series. And yes.. when you have played FFX, FFXI this isnt slow...

watching it and playing it yourself are two different shoes. FFX or FFXII gameplay may not look that fun either on video. as its turn based and slow.

I was saving this for the next time someone bumped a "V1.0 was better at ____" thread.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_QK_zkEZPU

I did a scene-by-scene comparison of the Black Mage Job cutscenes which are nearly identical in nature.

    10k-20k gil
got nerfed down later to 5k-8k gil
with some pre-work it was possible to get a leve with 100k gil reward

    @Kisa

Dat graphics and grass though ;D

yup its a side quest. not a main storyline quest. compare the intros from now to the old ones and say that these are equal in quallity. they dont even have voice acting in it. Nor is the voice acting in ARR from the same quality standard.

the cuts and the camera angles are far superior which cant be denied ;D

The battle system was not my cup of tea as seen here:
    https://youtu.be/CFKTvxoCLJ4?t=1m20s

But yes, 1.0 cutscenes just better quality overall (not including the graphics since that's obvious) and the cinematography was great:
    https://youtu.be/vIpSstzqeWs

but atleast 3.0 cutscenes are getting better

    Ifrit 1.0.

    besides the offline series:
Final Fantasy X (is that more quick to kill random mobs? no its not, because its final fantasy)

    Final Fantasy XII

Final Fantasy every was slow and tactical, so why not for the online series? A WoW 0815 combat style is better .. or suits Final Fantasy better?? the only good thing about it is Limit Break. for me its personally partly sad that Yoshi sold the identitiy of Final Fantasy to be a WoW wannabe. of course ARR/HW isnt bad.. but i miss the unique feel to the game.. it doesnt drag me into a world like 1.0. did. it was special.

especially since they patched and tweeked around the battle system in 1.0. after many patches. Yoshi P. promised they will patch the CS into direction of the ARR combat system.. which it finally wasnt at all.. they completely cut the TP system out of the game due to PVP and a quick Call of Duty gameplay style, that attracts more people. people better like to play the thousand WoW clone instead trying out new.

but well it is like it is... instances over instances, a dumbed down CS system that is used way too often in this genre and an itemlevel spiral.. hum...
as much as i feel some FF vibes about FFXIV ARR/HW there are also so much things which remind me more of a standard MMO, the feel, the gameplay etc. but well..

I.. oh forget it. It absolutely did copy and paste over and over. Just go to Youtube and type in "FFXIV copy paste" or "FFXIV repeated terrain". I'm not in the mood to "repeat" this conversation again. :P

Who insists that? I've never seen anybody insist that because they had to dial it way back so PS3 could run it.

I for one never played WoW (thank God; it doesn't even look appealing to me; horrendous character models like humans look like they have some mental disabilities, and everyone has small heads and big hands), so I could care less if HW/ARR were a said "clone." The game we have now is fine as it is. I played 1.0, got Legacy, but it just felt so slow with combat.

yes i know this controverse video. you dont believe it, in every game there are objects which are copied at different spots..like trees, stones and hillparts.

and yes i havent recognized this till i watched that video from that picky guy who actually looked specificly for that. doesnt change it for me that the world itself feeled more realistic, immersive and real... yes now we have themepark areas but i dont like to ride through them as i did in 1.0. (besides gridanian terrain). though they have less entertaining thempark character i like them over these new terrains.

just like the world of FFXI i liked the openworld regions in FFXIV 1.0. (besides shrouded forest^)

Final Fantasy XIV 1.0. was very much into the footsteps of its presuccessor Final Fantasy XI:
    FFXI
