The quest for A Relic Reborn was great. Real, actual content for the most part. The 24 mobs in a beatman stronghold felt pointless, but overall, the quest was great.

Those are real actual content! Then what happened?
Tome grind, FATE grind while praying to the RNG, materia grind, light grind, completing older dungeons praying to the RNG
In other words, starting with Zenith, the weapon quests took a massive dive in quality. Each update we usually get 3 new dungeons and 1 or 2 new trials. This is the allocation I'd like to see:
*1 of the new dungeons for MSQ
*1 of the new dungeons for weapon quest
*1 of the new dungeons for any of the previous 2 or a Just Because sidequest
*1 of the new trials for MSQ
*1 of the new trials for weapon quest or Hildebrand
And on an unrelated note, I really hope things change with how dungeons are added to High Level and Expert. In 2.0:
*3 new dungeons come out. Only 3 dungeons in Expert Roulette
*Old batch of Expert Roulette dungeons added to High Level
Considering that in 3.0 High Level Roulette is just the level 50 dungeons and grants exp for doing them, I hope that in 3.1 we keep NR/FC in Expert, but also get new dungeons. Sure, the roulette will be weighted in favor of the newer dungeons, but it would still be possible to roll an older dungeon. And now that SE has figured out how to do ilevel sync, older dungeons won't have to be super faceroll easy. Only mostly faceroll easy.
