    If a new weapon quest chain is introduced, I hope it's not a repeat of Zenith

    The quest for A Relic Reborn was great. Real, actual content for the most part. The 24 mobs in a beatman stronghold felt pointless, but overall, the quest was great.
    *1 dungeon
    *5 trials

    Those are real actual content! Then what happened?
    Tome grind, FATE grind while praying to the RNG, materia grind, light grind, completing older dungeons praying to the RNG

    In other words, starting with Zenith, the weapon quests took a massive dive in quality. Each update we usually get 3 new dungeons and 1 or 2 new trials. This is the allocation I'd like to see:
    *1 of the new dungeons for MSQ
    *1 of the new dungeons for weapon quest
    *1 of the new dungeons for any of the previous 2 or a Just Because sidequest

    *1 of the new trials for MSQ
    *1 of the new trials for weapon quest or Hildebrand

    And on an unrelated note, I really hope things change with how dungeons are added to High Level and Expert. In 2.0:
    *3 new dungeons come out. Only 3 dungeons in Expert Roulette
    *Old batch of Expert Roulette dungeons added to High Level

    Considering that in 3.0 High Level Roulette is just the level 50 dungeons and grants exp for doing them, I hope that in 3.1 we keep NR/FC in Expert, but also get new dungeons. Sure, the roulette will be weighted in favor of the newer dungeons, but it would still be possible to roll an older dungeon. And now that SE has figured out how to do ilevel sync, older dungeons won't have to be super faceroll easy. Only mostly faceroll easy.

    I recall something about it being "not as grindy". However, that's in developer-speak, and they need to keep us on the hamster wheel to keep those subs pouring in. So it's open to wide degrees of speculation. Still, we get a bonus for having the previous relic. I don't think it will be that bad, though people will QQ regardless.

    Yes it will not be the same. It will be in new areas and will require new FATES and new mobs to farm so it's not the same :P
    Asside from trolling It will be a grindy quest line again. The question is how much grindy will it be?

    If they go the extra mile and make unique weapons with special traits that people can truly covet and enjoy over the existing and more mundane weaponry, then they can make it as grindy as they want and I would support it. If, like the previous relics, they're just fancy reskins of weapons we can get in otherwise easier and more productive ways then I really don't have any interest unless they're fairly easy to obtain.

    After Heavensward rolled out, our relics are pretty much just tokens at this point. Nice to own and say 'I did it', but not exactly impressive and looking rather dated against the current level 60 offerings, despite their fancy trappings.

    I really hope we get special traits on the new weapons. Just stat vomit is really starting to urk me.

    "Occasionally reduces mana for healing spells" on a WHM weapon for example... just something.

    But why? Could Yoshi give us a valid reason? I remember him saying it could get 'too confusing.' How could it be confusing in any aspect?

    If you're investing so much time into a weapon, it would be so nice to get a special trait with it that ultimately affects your spells, magic, attacks, etc.

    I hope that new relic weapon will be harder to obtain. Or more grindy like pre nerfed 2000 lights collection was. That last zeta was kinda easy. Obtainable in 1 day. Pff. We need atleast 100 hours of grind or something challenging if not gridny.
