see this is one thing i absolutely hate about this game. The player community is 90% stereo-typical nerds. You're so emotionally attached to the game that your even willing to pay 13$ a month for it even though its down every other night and not question a single thing. this thread right here proves it. if this was ANY other gaming community like destiny or bf4 or whatever, there would be a revolt from the community and answers would be demanded. you guys just sit back and let them take your money. 'oh its totally reasonable they game will be broken without it'.


i will definitely be leaving in september when the new destiny expansion drops. the community there is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more ummm normal. oh and you get to play the game more then 3 nights a week for free too

True. All games have its own share of fanboys, no one can deny that.

ISP and lodestone maintenance you cannot count. As lodestone maintenance has zero impact on being able to play the game or not. ISP maintenance, you were still able to play.

That leaves 3. 2 of them were planned. One unplanned, due to it being an emergency which every online product suffers from at some point or another.

So two downtimes to implement new content, taking the servers down is the only way they can. Plus one emergency, which obviously cannot be panned for, but a necessary evil due to leaving it would cause moreissues overall than pulling the servers down to fix it.

The above applies to any and every online service.

OP you accuse others of "being overly emotionaly attached to FFXIV". But who is the one complaining they cannot play during downtime?

Bungie has been having quite the time keeping Destiny’s servers online as it appears they have been having issues on a regular basis. Last week, PlayStation users were unable to log into Destiny for some time while lengthy server maintenance periods took place earlier this month that lead players to be unable to play for several hours.

Leave it to someone who's insane enough to play Destiny to complain about Devs fixing shit in their game. I guess they've just gotten used to everything being always broken that there is outcry whenever something works as intended. :V

As long as that "some" isn't me there's nothing wrong with the game. I would guess.
