    So for now keep the serpent gear..and only use the red scrips for the main hand tools? Also from my understanding we can get a regular one and a crafted one right?

    There is only a regular Main hand from Scrips (no crafted version) and only a crafted Off hand (no regular version), for gatherers.
    The only other crafted items for gatherers are accessories. left hand side (belt aside) is all scrips bought.

    Assuming they dont add anything in todays patch.
