What to do with all these poetics?

Thats good to hear! I had heard you could buy those items with Law, but not with Poetics. I must have missed that in the patch notes Thanks for the good news. It's not the end of the world anymore!

I was honestly expecting the new crafting materials for the 170-180 items to require Poetics tomes to purchase just like they did with Coke, Potash ect. Doing this gives people something else to spend tomes on and is good for the in-game economy as it allows non-crafters to acquire gil and it gives crafting people options in getting the materials they need.

Maybe this will change in the patch on Thursday but right now all the new gear looks to be locked behind Red Scrips which allows people to only purchase 2-3 ingredient items per week due to the 450 cap with no other ways to get them atm.

Remember, not everyone has HW. Poetics are there for people who just have ARR and not HW as they can't level past 50.

Wrong, you can buy doman gear upgrades using LAW tomes, not poetics. Poetics are still only used for level 50 equipment.

If you don't have HW than you can't level from 51-60 anyways, so again - giving Poetics out as the roulette reward for lvl 51+ is still pointless.

OP has a point though. Perhaps not everyone has HW / not everyone is at lv60, but from what I see day after day - at least just as many have the expansion and have at least one job at 60. With this in mind, it's completely void of logic to get, as a lv60 job, 100 poetics for high roulette and 120 for main scenario, when the whole currency itself is of no use whatsoever in that stage. Even with still having jobs that one might not even have started yet, doing all the high level content easily gives acces to gear that's at least as good as, if not better than, the i120 poetics pieces, to gear up those jobs that are behind. Level 51 gear is already i120, and there's a dungeon with green items from it. 50-51 bridge is easy as hell too, and being through SoF, you more than probably do already have adequate gear for that.
So..yeah. What to do with all the poetics that's been capped and unused since HW launched?
