when needing to heal a GROUP of people then GROUP spells are simply the way to go. not sure how that is so hard for people to understand.

Depends on the hp lost by the whole party and by the amount of aoes being dished out through the fight. If its something like t12 phase 3, yea some medica II > I rotation might be in order but if its something like vault last boss a simple medica II > pick up those with least mp with cure I and then go back to tank with a freecure proc saves a lot more mp than simple medica I spam for the exact same job.

It's all a matter of knowing how much damage is being dealt and how potent your own healing is and heal accordingly.

That's one part of why it goes on. No matter how much of a mess things end up being thanks to a bad job, win and it's all meh we won... . .even though we BARELY come out of it since the other healer had to carry the stupid leeching healer who let everything go to hell. Surely it can't possibly get worse the next time, or the next time after that, which it often does.

welp... there's not much about that you can do on the forums. discuss it with the people in your party. if you are in a static, try to train that person. if they just aren't cutting, then think about replacing them. if it is a pug, try to keep things simple and straight to the point.

i hear that. as my main is WHM, i try to always keep StoneSkin applied to every player in-between every encounter. if a boss encounter isn't too taxing, and a single player takes damage, i heal then re-apply StoneSkin. and i may even try to re-apply it to the whole group during some kind phase change, it just depends on the situation. if there is group damage my main go to is Medica II. there aren't many encounters where every player needs to be necessarily at 100% HP throughout the entire encounter. i usually won't bother throwing a Cure out unless they are like under 75% HP. otherwise, just let the HoT do its job. but as you said, "It's all a matter of knowing how much damage is being dealt and how potent your own healing is and heal accordingly.". experience is always important, even if you have those good MMO' instincts.

there are just too many scenarios to go over every bit of detail with every person you come across. the most you can do in a pug is try to throw someone a pointer about something in specific. that is, without making it sound like they are bad. once you start calling someone bad, they are less inclined to even bother reading what you are saying.
