Cry this, cry that. This has been written so many times, can't you just necro an old thread instead? They ARE working on it. Things like this takes time. Who said adding a key map menu just like that is easy? No one has ever mentioned it, use the right dev tag and tell them! Don't come crying when you don't read the manual OR forum rules. It says that if you want dev to read it, use the appropriate dev number. If you want a formal answer from Yoshi, send him a letter, like thousands of people already have done. They had a bad start, they are working on it. But before making a guide "how to do this and that" they must complete what the guide should guide to! Like, why have a guide to allot points, when they are dissappearing next patch? Guides comes WHEN a game is ready, not before. We don't want them to make a new guide every patch. They have said 3 times that the new patch will come around the end of september, please, read every post before QQ'ing!

Most of the basic info like default keys for controls were included with the game on a little placart that had a full keyboard layout. No one READS THE FRACKING MANUAL THOUGH.

That's becouse if one is seasoned player one can usually play the game instinctivaly. For example, from MMOs alone I played ultima online, RYL beta, DnDO, WoW, Rift beta and Aion and I never had to check the manual. In the case of FFXIV I nearly gave up, until my friend (who dragged me into this game) spent some time and helped me.

While it's good that they work on the tutorial, this is not the only problem. Controls for one (thank the gods they allowed to drag the map with the mouse instead of only ilkj buttons).

At the same time almost all players right now are those who play on/off sporadically not new players. So while those things should be high on the priority list, they should not nessecerly be on the top.

On cereal note, I found the keyboard bindings to be just like every other MMO I have ever played, I fail to see the issue.

With 2 exceptions:

Arrow keys do not move the camera (I use the right mouse button so could care less)
and "F" switches between Active and Passive.

While I agree, and I am a long time MMO player,

It really isn't acceptable to just expect people who have never played a MMO to do any reading before they play.

The game itself really should help them along.

Duly noted. While I work on not "QQing" so much and reading more thoroughly, maybe you could work on being a little more considerite and non abrasive in your posts? I'm not sure you read my entire post thoroughly either, as I was listing not only cons but pros. Also I havent seen any new player testimonials for post 1.18, so I figgured a fresh opinion on the matter would have been helpful. It's not like this game has a steady influx of new people, and it's not hard to tell why when people are constantly getting shot down on official forums for conveying opinions.

Yes, this makes me very sad that I can't change the camera angle with the arrow buttons. I can't hook up my ps3 controller wirelessly on my rig in the living room either so playing with a game pad is out of the question unfortunately. It's incredibly silly that we cant change the up down left and right with the wasd keys (which would make more sence really as wasd is right beside tab), oh well.

You should never need to read outside resources just to know the basic of the game. This is where SE got it all wrong, there is no harm in doing ingame tutorial.

Why is that again?

Try playing a Paradox strategy title "properly" without reading a manual or any outside information. Stop embarrassing MMO players by insisting that none of us know how to read, think for ourselves, or look for answers to our questions beyond a gaudy two hour tutorial, overly simplified mechanics, and the equivalent of an entire tarmac crew guiding us through the game.

You people and your "everything's too complicated" mentality speak for yourselves, you certainly don't speak for me or all MMO players.
