Sometime second half of September at the earliest.

Thats why FFXIV needs in game tutorial. The game should start with a series of quests that explains how to play the game and the many systems. These quests should take you around town, show you the different locations, controlls, mechanics etc...
says end of september but there is never official dates and delay is to be expected on most major patch.
Oh ok, thank you.![]()
Umm . . . official. There is always a chance of delay, but their stated goal was before the end of September. You might check over at the Producer's letters. There's a lot of info on upcoming changes being planned. Some stuff is only in the Translations threads here, but a good general outline can be found in the letters.Sorry, is this speculation or an official hint?
Heh, I read every one but usually while I'm at work.. so I generally tend to glance over the the more important notices like the release date of patches :P
Most of the basic info like default keys for controls were included with the game on a little placart that had a full keyboard layout. No one READS THE FRACKING MANUAL THOUGH.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
You know what would be even better? Say we had the ingame key map, but we could drag and drop to interchange the key bindings as apposed to mashing every button on your keyboard looking for a spare key so you can free up one of the keys you want to use for something else. It took me about 15 mins to change ijkl to wasd
