    Career bards didn't want to fall further behind in dmg, the point bards were at pre 3.0 wasn't something career bards would complain about.
    There are also plenty of bards that would take more support rather than dmg.
    What the career bards definitely didn't ask for was a copy pasted skill from the new class that fills the same role which basically lowers the option of class choice if you don't like it.
    Then on top of that the skill being implemented on a kit where it doesn't work smoothly (not talking about downsides here) but the clunky skill interactions like Repelling Shot, Flaming Arrow and Bloodletters.

    So nah, devs gave us some kind of easy way balance copy paste mch skill not what the players actually asked.

    It's not relatively more damage than what we've been doing, though. Bards utilizing WM (or MCH using GB) still lags behind other classes in damage and have a larger difference if it's disabled.

    I play (well played now blm already 51 and going onward) BRD on alt char as main job , all i can say BRD is ruined for me now . Why ? 1st & main reason Wanderer's Minuet , why SE did go that way of advancing bard job at all ? play song to dps increase is fine , but if it like PLD oaths , WAR tank/dps stances , how come BRD get punished of free movement and remove auto att if they did ALREADY lower damage than other DD classes . Some dudes may say we got dps increase with Song , but with Minuet up bard can't parse with good MNK , DRG and BLM of course . So if bard can't -----> what reason in adding THIS "Song" at all ??????
    What i think just remove Minuet or make it for other usage (like 30 sec buff or so) , bit longer Empy arrow time , maybe get old Barrage back if think Barrage -> Empy is too hot for bard T.T but give me back old bard style .
    As for now gj , BRD is dead for me for any after 50 content .

    Got SMN for sub skills for BLM , SMN is good job but it's just not my style .
    Yes BLM cast time longer , but it is rewarding , BLM attacks are very powerful , when bard ones totally not ;(

    Welp, If big numbers is what you enjoy, you'll probably like fire IV (lvl 60 blm skill)

    I think the major concern here, and something ALL classes should be concerned about is SE turning all classes into the same as each other. All range classes are going more towards being caster like. Healers? can't say for sure, but protect was changed so that all the healers get the same protect and WM loses their bonus to it. How will SE change the melee so they are all the same next?


    What I loved about FF14 was every class had a unique feel, and wasn't just a reskin of each other. I'm sad to see us losing variety.

    "Caster like" but still not the same. They all have their own playstyle despite having one thing almost in common (1.5 and 2-3 second cast times are a huge difference)

    Level 60 BLM: Enochian. You need to keep an eye on your Astral buff timer (wears off, no Fire IV for you), Enochian buff timer (wears off, no 5% damage buff and no Fire/Blizzard IV) and how much MP you have left (so you don't screw yourself over and not have enough MP to cast Blizzard III).
    Level 60 SMN: Mostly still the same as level 50 SMN, but with Tri-Disaster (MP management) and Dreadwyrm Stance (damage up buff and a Deathflare finisher). Painflare is mostly just to deal with trash mobs/adds stacked together.
    Level 60 BRD: Wanderer's Minuet. With it on, all of your attacks are given a 30% damage buff, but with a trade-off to keep them from being unbalanced. With it off, you lose the buff and access to two abilities... but can continue to DPS in movement heavy fights/phases.

    The jobs are still growing too close, yes there are small things to differentiate them but... not enough. Sadly, I did not originally want this play style, if I did, I would have gone BM or Summoner, cause.. those classes were built from the ground up like that, and not just as a tacked on thing.

    It's not tuned that way at all. Bards gave up mobility to stay pretty much were they were before in percentage of DPS done behind everything else.
