Or how about we make it so all your skills has a 3 seconds casting time. You'll quickly miss your laughable 1.5sTo be fair, there are too many people like you who don't even have a 52 or 60 BRD and don't know what you're talking about. Why don't you actually level one and find out how the new playstyle is like. Now compare it to other classes. Why don't we add a cast time to 70% of your WAR abilities. Let's see how you like your class then.
Bards may have some problems but casting time isnt one of them.

The problem isn't the cast time itself, but the problem comes from having cast times, if that makes sense. Though having a 3 second cast time would make it worse because a good chunk of BRD damage comes from oGCDs, not to mention exasperate the straighter shot proc delay more than it already is.

Thats the same problem blm had to deal with in 2.0-2.55 with firestarter proc. The more obvious fix would be to allow firestarter/straighter shot to stack twice but they refuse to do that. The problem isn't the cast time itself, but the problem comes from having cast times, if that makes sense. however wishles was complaining about the casting time itself.
I wouldn't have mind it so much if straight shot wasn't part of our regular rotation/whatever since we have to keep the buff up, but the attack itself is a lower potency with a higher TP cost compared to heavy shot, and all the buff doesn't make it free or boost its potency, only guaranteed crit.
And well...the oGCD/bloodletter reset too. The passive doesn't work with WM that well, and it creates a fragmented gameflow for bard. It's not even like BLM where you can cast one after another in a semi-predictable flow, because there is no flow and there's disconnects everywhere. It's even worse when I'm multi dotting when a fight allows for it, because it used to increase my single target output as well with river of blood procs.
It's how people interpret it. I full timed bard, and I absolutely hate how WM interacts with bard's 2.x toolkit. Even more so when I leveled up MCH first because they both play nearly the same (they're not different in the context of BLM compared to SMN, but rather SCH and SMN from a pure dps perspective) with WM/GB active, and only one of the two classes was built to accommodate the 1.5 cast time on their abilities.I've levelled BRD to 60 and see no problem with WM. Mind you, I main BLM and going from a Job with a 2.5-3 second cast to a 1.5 aim was pretty swell. I also enjoyed seeing the damage output from a Barrage buffed Empyrean Arrow (and if that were allowed to be used with a 30% damage increase, but also allowed to be used while running around like a headless chicken, BRD would be the most OP Job in the game). I learned how to toggle WM for certain fights (Library is the best example) and applied both DoT's to two mobs and then refreshed them with Iron Jaws (to which I used Rain of Death constantly). I don't main it, but I learned how to play it as will many other players completely new to the game OR levelling it up as an alt.
